CNN's Peter Hamby claimed GOP likened illegal immigrants to 'cattle'

Peter Hamby of CNN has been in the news recently for tweeting out a link to an Obama donation page and for accusing Rep. Paul Ryan of using a racial code word when he called Florida the “breadbasket of the South.”

Last month, blogger Soopermexican pointed out that Hamby tweeted the above assessment of a motion at the GOP platform committee.

The smear circulated through Twitter. Even the Director of Hispanic Press for the DNC made note of it:

When Hamby’s gross mischaracterization became clear, he tweeted the following “clarification” (apparently he couldn’t bear to call it a correction):
