Marxists have descended on Chicago for a four-day conference called Socialism 2026. It’s a sad showcase of some of the dumbest, most dangerous political radicals our nation has been cursed with. Many of these kooks have infiltrated once-respected professions and are twisting them in perverse ways by injecting them with political poison. This includes nursing.

At Socialism 2026, Zion Zorro*, a University of Chicago Medicine nurse with National Nurses United who also says she is a member of the Tempest Collective, explains why she sees nursing as inherently political.
She then points to NNU’s broader agenda, including “abolishing ICE, stopping the wars, ending harm and funding care,” and argues nurses should collaborate with other unions and movements as part of a larger collective fight.*

Nurses do not take the Hippocratic Oath like doctors, but many do take a similar pledge upon graduation. This politicization of nursing seems at odds with that pledge.
