'An Animal Slaughterhouse': New Allegations About Abdul El-Sayed's History Are Horrifying

Even though he has never practiced medicine in his life, one of Abdul El-Sayed's biggest boasts during his Senate campaign is how much more he knows about healthcare than anyone else. Because he has been a career politician in public health positions, he claims to be the 'expert' that no one else is.

Sound familiar? One might even assume from El-Sayed's bragging that he is declaring himself 'The ScienceTM.' 

Unfortunately, delusions of grandeur aren't all that El-Sayed has in common with Tony Fauci. Both of them have a repulsive tendency to mistreat animals. Fauci tortured beagle puppies, and El-Sayed, in his former position as executive director of the Detroit Health Department, oversaw an Animal Control team that slaughtered and mistreated thousands of dogs and cats. 

The latest allegation to add to El-Sayed's litany of disgraces was published yesterday by The Daily Mail.

Now, to be fair, any Animal Control department sadly will have to euthanize a lot of dogs and cats. But under El-Sayed's leadership, those numbers skyrocketed — and some animals were put down mistakenly and in violation of policy. 

In a 2017 ABC News profile of his bid for governor, El-Sayed pointed to his record as Detroit's health director, boasting that his team had 'rebuilt the animal control system.'

But according to records obtained by the Daily Mail, nearly 4,680 dogs and cats were euthanized by Detroit Animal Care and Control (DACC) during the period when El-Sayed was in his post at the Detroit Health Department.

The 2015 numbers were particularly stark. That year, DACC euthanized 1,988 dogs and 272 cats – a total of 2,260 animals. 

The figure represented 26.4 percent of all dogs euthanized in the county, according to Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development's Animal Shelter Annual Report.

In addition, DACC had refused to report its numbers for 2016, but The Daily Mail found that nearly 1,100 dogs were put down that year. In 2017, the number topped 1,400.

It gets worse. It gets MUCH worse. 

While euthanasia is an unfortunate necessity of animal shelters, mistreating those animals is not. But according to former DACC employee and whistleblower Brittany Roberts, that's exactly what was going on before and during El-Sayed's tenure. She labeled the department 'an animal slaughterhouse,' and her allegations against DACC include: 

  • Overcrowded and unsanitary conditions, such as dogs being housed in cages with vomit and feces,
  • Not scanning dogs for microchips before euthanizing them,
  • Euthanizing dogs being evaluated for rabies after one day, instead of the required 10-day observation period, and
  • Inadequate care of sick or injured animals

Roberts claimed she was fired for raising her concerns. She has since reached an out-of-court settlement with the City of Detroit. 

In addition, FOX 2 Detroit reporter Hannah Saunders claims that El-Sayed begged her in a text message not to cover the animal abuse issue, and a local animal rights organization claimed that El-Sayed lied and exaggerated the number of strays in Detroit to make the euthanasia numbers seem smaller by comparison. 

El-Sayed's campaign, of course, blamed his predecessor for everything. That animal control director, Harry Ward, certainly ran a horrific department, but it sure doesn't look like El-Sayed 'turned it around,' as his campaign claims, during his 2015-17 tenure.

That should come as no surprise, given who his bestie is. 

Piker deserves prison or worse for that video alone. 

And that's whose support El-Sayed craves. 

That's because they are all Communists or Islamists ... or both. 

'Normal' is not a word in their vocabulary. 

It's true. 

They're even allegedly poisoning dogs in parks in the UK, as the government over there bends the knee to try not to offend Muslims by owning dogs.

We can't confirm whether that account is actually run by Democrats, but the post is accurate either way. 

As weird as Haley Stevens was, at least she loved dogs. That's more than we can say for Team El-Sayed. 

HA! 

Not bloody likely. PETA has been conspicuously silent in demanding answers from El-Sayed or his campaign. 

And they were willing to call out Fauci, so there's no excuse for their silence on these allegations. 

Don't hold your breath. There's an election to steal ... err, we mean 'win' in Michigan. 

We sure HOPE animal lovers will not abide it. 

Michiganders will have a chance to show they realize it come November. 

Maybe that video and Sarah MacLachlan will help them.

In the meantime, while El-Sayed's record at DACC is abominable, we very much doubt it's the last horrible thing we learn about him between now and Election Day.
