Lost and Tossed: DSA Co-Chair Serves Up Word Salad When Pushed on ‘Open Borders’ Stance

It’s becoming apparent that members of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) are verbal chefs. Give them any subject, and they will whip up one enormous word salad. DSA Co-Chair Megan Romer tossed one during a recent interview with David Remnick of The New Yorker. He asked her about the DSA's ‘open borders’ stance. You better grab some salad tongs for this one.

DSA Co-Chair Megan Romer is asked to explain the DSA position on 'open borders.'

The slightest ask for explanation or scrutiny placed on these nonsensical positions results in this rhetorical gobbledygook:

"They're all part of this long-term goal where we are putting huge amounts of resources into alleviating poverty, into stopping destabilization of countries internationally that are causing a huge migrant flow."

"Most people in the US are here because of a prior period of unrestricted immigration or of much looser immigration."

"We're not saying throw the gates open. We're saying, let's look at where the system is really flawed, really problematic."

Interviewer: "I think that's called immigration reform."

"It is, but we think that you have to look at all of these things from first principles. Right? We started here from first principles. So what do we want out of an immigration system. Let's start there."

"That doesn't mean thinking just throwing open the borders and then building from the ground up."

"It means reforming the system we have while we rethink the system, while we build this new one from the ground up, and then hopefully eventually flipping the switch."

It doesn't matter how you get to "flipping the switch" on an open border. All of that is pure spin and obfuscation.

Just own the fact that you want to abolish the border and mass amnesty. 

She stated exactly that about a week ago.

Either the ‘big tent’ wants a secured border or a wide-open one. There’s no in-between or compromise on this issue.

Commenters wonder how DSA members can hate America so much but want people from all over the world to come here.

Yes, DSA has to get all the illegal aliens into America so they can already be here when utopia suddenly manifests. Ah, it all makes perfect sense!

Posters say it’s clear that these DSA drones have not had their presumptions and unworkable ideas challenged. They are all ill-prepared to handle even the softest of softball questions.

It’s a platform based on emotion, which is mostly couched in envy and hatred. It’s all about punishing those who strive and rewarding those who don’t with no idea how economics works. It’s the Democrat Party’s platform except more overt and on steroids. With that in mind, it’s easy to see why the DSA chose the Democrat Party as its vehicle to push their stupidity.
