Mamdani Should Step Aside: Let 9/11 Families Grieve in Peace on the 25th Anniversary

Look, I understand Zohran Mamdani is the Democratically elected Mayor of New York City. I don't know why New York City elected such a horrible person. I know a whole bunch of the city didn't vote, but that was also a choice. I also understand Mamdani is very pro-Islamic terrorism and many of the relatives of the 9/11 victims don't want him presiding over this year's remembrance ceremonies.

This year is the 25th Anniversary and that's major. The families want to grieve in peace and not have sneering Mamdani and his openly bigoted wife looking on.

People don't dislike Mamdani because he's Muslim. They don't like him because he openly embraces radical Islam. He's friends with Hasan Piker who has openly said American deserved 9/11. That rightfully upsets the loved ones of the victims.

I'm not sure if Leftists are really this dumb or they just pretend on Twitter. Everyone recognizes Mamdani wasn't responsible for 9/11. He is responsible, however, for his words and actions as an adult. Those are hurtful.

This is an excellent list. It's comprehensive, but not even all of Mamdani's crazy beliefs.

Mamdani could rise above the controversy by voluntarily stepping aside and appointing a designee to speak in his place. Perhaps there is someone who works for him that has a connection to 9/11. He could issue a clear statement affirming that he does not believe America “deserved” 9/11, that the innocents who died that day deserved to live, and that he rejects any suggestion otherwise. He could acknowledge that some are understandably uneasy about his past associations, reaffirm that he disagrees with figures like Hasan Piker, and explain that he is staying away out of respect for the families—while still making plain that he is thinking of them on this solemn day.

The families should not have to fight to keep him away. They have already endured more than enough heartache.
