After Twitchy's report, MSNBC is reportedly 'reviewing' video of Newtown dad's testimony

Last night, MSNBC continued to push the falsehood that Neil Heslin, father of one of the children murdered at Sandy Hook, was “heckled” as he delivered testimony at a Connecticut legislative meeting. Today, 19 hours after Twitchy exposed the network’s intentionally deceitful video edits, a WaPo source says MSNBC is “reviewing” the video.

“We’re reviewing the video in question,” says an MSNBC source.

Are we to believe MSNBC didn’t “review” the video while slicing and dicing away the context that showed there was no heckling?

Shameful.

Will MSNBC issue a correction and apologize for deceiving viewers and readers?

As of this morning, an article on the MSNBC website is still titled “Emotional father of Sandy Hook victim heckled at gun hearing.” Twitchy’s clip of Heslin’s testimony is only 17 minutes long — MSNBC has had 19 hours hours to “review” the video. And by “review,” we mean manufacture dizzying spin to explain why edited video reveals a deeper truth that can’t be captured by the full testimony.

WaPo also reports that Heslin didn’t characterize the incident as “heckling.”

In a chat last night on CNN with Piers Morgan, Heslin reports that he wasn’t “fazed” by the episode. “It wasn’t the answer to my question. It was a response,” he said.

Heslin didn’t get the answer he was hoping for when he asked why anyone needs “assault-style weapons.” But when audience members responded “Second Amendment” and “shall not be infringed,”  it was an answer to a question he asked.
