Pathetic. 36 female staffers on “Saturday Night Live” signed a letter in support of accused groper Al Franken:

Some of the reaction, from both liberals and conservatives (but the criticism from liberals is fantastic)
Some of the women on this list are my childhood heroes. This statement feels like a betrayal.
Just a reminder that women – even trailblazing, accomplished ones – can help perpetuate the patriarchy. https://t.co/fCr9WyPU3r

"But he was nice to me" means nothing. It's just another form of victim blaming, subtly perpetuating the notion that the women who were abused were fundamentally flawed, since he was "nice to everyone else." There MUST have been something wrong w/the victim, right?
No. Keep it. https://t.co/ayaMxjcPoz

Women, we have to stop gaslighting each other. *Please.* https://t.co/wuUv9weirL

Y’all gotta stop doing this shit.
The first response should never be “well he didn’t assault me.”
Come on, son. https://t.co/fr3SZ1ntNp

But like…why? Why do this? What is this compulsion for WOMEN to defend these men? Even if you're not going to say "we stand with the women" why do THIS when you could just be quiet? https://t.co/aJLJm7AkcU

Rape culture gets held up quite a lot by women who believe that men who are nice to them must be nice to everyone else as well. https://t.co/2azeNznPJw

"He didn't harass me" isn't actually proof of anything. We know that right? It literally doesn't mean a thing. https://t.co/3o5Cm9Q3tr

Listen to the (liberal) women … as they cover-up for abusers.

This is so hypocritical and damaging to women who come forward as victims — no matter their political affiliation — and I am honestly so disappointed. @alfranken, if you truly believe in being a champion for women's voices, create the precedent. Make lasting change. Step down. https://t.co/2R96zA2BeF

Wait, these women are _thanking_ Franken for treating them with respect? https://t.co/TIhM4sFEBf

And notice how this letter leaves out Franken’s latest accuser:

To be continued:
Will the "women staff" also be addressing the second accusation against @SenFranken? https://t.co/6fU0BMTmAD

SNL’s coverage of Franken from Saturday, which was tougher than this letter:
