Ouch. As we told you earlier, Donald Trump was up early this morning — 3:20 a.m. to be exact — sending out a tweet criticizing anonymous quotes allegedly from his campaign staff in media reports. Trump was widely criticized for it, but he doubled-down later in the day:
For those few people knocking me for tweeting at three o'clock in the morning, at least you know I will be there, awake, to answer the call!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 30, 2016
But now we’re hearing from Newt Gingrich who added his voice to the chorus, telling Sean Hannity “You can’t tweet at 3 o’clock in the morning. Period. There’s no excuse, ever, not if you’re going to be POTUS.”
.@newtgingrich: "You can't tweet at 3 o’clock in the morning. Period. There's no excuse, ever, not if you're going to be POTUS." #Hannity pic.twitter.com/F7nA2MTw8w

Gingrich went on to warn that Trump needs “grow into the role of POTUS” if he wants to win:
.@newtgingrich: "If [Trump]'s gotta be himself, then he may well not win. If he's willing to grow into the role of POTUS, he may well win." pic.twitter.com/43yS8xwADz

And Gingrich questioned if Trump is willing to do what it takes:
.@newtgingrich: "[Trump's] got to decide that saving America…is worth his subordinating himself to difficult process of becoming POTUS."

We’ll end with the same question as Hannity: Do you agree that Trump needs to be more disciplined?
.@newtgingrich said @realDonaldTrump has "got to become much more disciplined." Do you agree? #Hannity pic.twitter.com/rKLuqhpHIA
