Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner has dropped out of the race, and in a video he apologized for his past actions, asked for forgiveness for lying, and ended his campaign with quiet grace and dignity.
Wait, that's not what happened at all. Platner continued to deny allegations and claimed he's been framed:
“The establishment framed me for rape because I support Medicare For All” is maybe the craziest thing this guy’s said yet. pic.twitter.com/4CNyTpiKAV

Yessir! The same people who want Medicare for All framed Platner because he supports Medicare for All -- that makes total sense (cue massive eye roll)!
Yesterday I revisited two of the socialists who helped recruit Platner. These people are beyond parody:
I thought this video was fake at first. Nope its real. This is who handpicked Platner to run in Maine? We cant hate politics enough pic.twitter.com/zqyjj92bEG

I'd pay good money just for the entertainment of watching that guy try to change a tire.
This morning I ran across a New York Times story about the implosion of Platner's campaign, and some of the strategists who helped get him into the race sure had visions of grandeur for the latest Democrat train wreck:
The recruiters — Dan Moraff, Leanne Fan and Morris Katz — told Mr. Platner he was “the one,” a “hero of the movement,” “a historical figure” who could be “leading a revolution,” according to half a dozen people with knowledge of their conversations.
[...]
As his campaign was getting off the ground, Mr. Moraff likened him to Barack Obama in conversations with senior Democratic officials, according to two people with knowledge of the private conversations.
[...]
For months, there was little indication that any of the controversy was seriously hurting his candidacy.
As Mr. Platner’s star rose through the winter and early spring, Mr. Katz was privately promoting him as a future presidential candidate for as soon as 2028, if he won his Senate bid.
These are the same kinds of Democrats who also thought they could pass off Tim Walz as John Wayne with jazz hands and make him the next vice president. The good news for Republicans is that the Left has learned nothing and instead has just been trying to get better at faking authenticity. Maine provided the latest example in how that effort is going.
