Manhattan Asst. D.A.'s Claim About What Trump Did to the Justice System Is a Doozy

Twitchy

Today Donald Trump appeared virtually to be sentenced in the Manhattan case brought by Alvin Bragg. Judge Merchan gave the U.S. President-Elect an unconditional discharge punishment after the latest example of how the Left's lawfare attempt designed to keep Trump from entering the White House yet again backfired in epic fashion.

In a singular moment in U.S. history, President-elect Donald Trump was sentenced Friday for his New York hush money conviction, but the judge declined to impose any punishment.

The outcome cements Trump’s conviction before he returns to power before while freeing him to return to the White House unencumbered by the threat of a jail term or a fine.

The entire effort was just so the Democrats (and media of course) could label Trump as a "convicted felon" moving forward, which an NBC News "journalist" made quite clear just after the sentencing:

That's what this lawfare was all about (by the way, Ken, you'll also be able to call Trump "president" in ten days.

I found something the Manhattan Asst. District Attorney said during the sentencing hearing to be incredibly ironic:

Meanwhile, prosecutor Joshua Steinglass insisted that the verdict in this case was “unanimous and decisive” and that it “must be respected.”

He then blasted the future president for using “dangerous rhetoric” throughout the trial, referencing Trump’s threats to the judge and prosecutors.

“Such threats are designed to have a chilling effect, to intimidate folks who have a responsibility to enforce our laws … Because they fear he is simply too powerful to be held to the same rule of law as the rest of us,” Steinglass said.

“Put simply, this defendant has caused enduring damage to public perception of the justice system and has placed officers of the court in harm’s way.”

Steinglass said Trump used "dangerous rhetoric" that put the court and prosecutors "in harm's way" but doesn't seem to be introspective in the least at the fact that the Left's rhetoric caused Trump to be shot. These people are shameless.

As for the claim Trump is the one who damaged the public perception of the justice system, I wasn't alone in thinking that it was the justice system which did that.

It was a shameless thing to say and the leftist activists in the Manhattan "justice system" and elsewhere have learned nothing from all this imploding on them. Thankfully voters didn't let them be successful.
