As our own Doug Powers reported on Wednesday, Texas Senate candidate James Talarico appeared on Fox News and did his best to distance himself from all of the radical lunacy he's been caught spouting on video. Fox News' Brooke Taylor, for example, asked him about his 2021 claim that there are six genders and whether he still believes it. He says no, and that "he's 'missed the mark'" on some of his past statements.
"Missing the mark" seems to be Talarico's new response to all of his past statements. On Wednesday, he held a food drive in Texas as counterprogramming to the Republican National Convention, where he had the chance to talk with several network reporters. NBC News' Garrett Haake played a clip of Talarico asking how to go about dismantling the connected processes of climate change, white supremacy, and capitalism. Talarico said he missed the mark on statements he's made in the past.
WOW: NBC’s @GarrettHaake delivers the first direct mention (and soundbite) on a network newscast (during Wednesday’s ‘Nightly News’) of Texas Democrat James Talarico otalking about the need to “dismantle” capitalism pic.twitter.com/PoaSqgRrjh

Talarico is a serial mark misser.

where are the follow-up questions of - what, specifically, made you change your mind??

That's an excellent question. Where are the follow-ups? What happened in the past five years to change your mind about there being six genders?
Interesting he “missed the mark” on another topic (6 genders) on Fox News and would you believe that we just misunderstood that stance too! This guy must think we are a bunch of idiots.

Missed the mark? He seemed pretty convicted though. That wasn’t a misstatement. That was his thesis.

I’m surprised NBC did that.

What? They teed up the perfect opportunity for him to backpedal.
Don’t believe this guy! He’s now trying to portray himself as a moderate just like Spanberger did in Virginia. Democrats NEVER tell the truth on how they’ll govern because no one would ever vote for these redistribution policies.

Don’t be fooled Texas.
He’s having to backpedal on everything! Will people fall for it?

Ever since he won the Democrat nomination for Senate in Texas, he's realized he "missed the mark" on just about everything he claimed only recently.
