As we told you earlier, many liberal journos had their Twitter accounts suspended because they’d linked to an account that had been posting the real-time location of Elon Musk’s jet. The account posting that information was also suspended. The debate then became whether posting the location of Elon Musk’s jet constitutes doxxing.
The defense of the suspended accounts has been that all they did was share public information, but that doesn’t appear to be the case:
My plane is actually not trackable without using non-public data
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 16, 2022
Yes. He basically admits it here, which to me is 100% a justification for suspending his account. The only question then is how the policy extends to others linking to him. https://t.co/xObYfsKC6r pic.twitter.com/gqdVR8vKGb

The Washington Post’s Philip Bump, however, says sharing that information does not amount to providing “assassination coordinates”:
I would again like to point out that identifying the location of an airplane provides "assassination coordinates" to, like, the operator of a Patriot missile battery.

me, tracking my enemy's plane: there he is!

Some replies to this are like “uh, the plane has to land!” and yes it is true that planes land at airports, places renowned for making it easy and quick to find people.

Now it’s time to play “imagine if the tables were turned”:
I would like to point out if a website was devoted to live-tracking Nancy Pelosi's whereabouts and Fox News and Newsmax were sharing it, these people would be calling for Biden's DOJ to arrest people. https://t.co/Xk1zdsD5m2

And besides, do you remember what Twitter used to suspend people over?
Pre-Musk Twitter suspended accounts that told “journalists” to learn to code.
Kindly and gently hug all the nuts. https://t.co/BclI62hVJj

Would Philip do this to Mr Bezos?
Very weird times we are in. https://t.co/hgBJ7MNf1Y— Gray Connolly (@GrayConnolly) December 16, 2022
If that info was being spread around about Bezos’ plane the spin would likely be quite different.
