NY Times unleashes 'most stupid and idiotic tweet in the entire history of Twitter' for gotcha attempt on Fla. Republicans

Earlier today we told you about the liberal pearl-clutching that’s going on over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis telling the truth about some in the “national regime media” who were essentially rooting for Hurricane Ian for political purposes.

The New York Times’ contribution to that effort is something else. How’s this for a journalistic stretch to “own DeSantis” and other Florida Republicans?

So hurricanes are caused by too few “climate laws”? This just REEKS of “science”!

That could be but the competition is always fierce for that particular distinction.

Basically the media spin is that if you don’t support massive spending bills proposed by Democrats (with the support of a few Republicans in this case) then you got what was coming to you in the form of a hurricane:

Hurricane Ian’s wrath made clear that Florida faces some of the most severe consequences of climate change anywhere in the country. But the state’s top elected leaders opposed the most significant climate legislation to pass Congress — laws to help fortify states against, and recover from, climate disasters, and confront their underlying cause: the burning of fossil fuels.

Senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott voted against last year’s bipartisan infrastructure law, which devotes some $50 billion to help states better prepare for events like Ian, because they said it was wasteful. And in August, they joined every fellow Republican in the Senate to oppose a new climate law that invests $369 billion in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the largest such effort in the country’s history.

At the same time, Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis has blocked the state’s pension fund from taking climate change into account when making investment decisions, saying that politics should be absent from financial calculations.

Have you noticed the media hardly ever approaches these things the other way around:

The national media is beyond redemption.

Fact check: TRUE.
