Remember when candidate Hillary Clinton said that all women with harassment and assault claims should be “heard and believed”? The accusations that eventually led liberal Sen. Al Franken to announce his resignation yesterday have caused some to start furiously pumping the brakes on “believe all women,” as evidenced by “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski:

After Franken announced his resignation, Brzezinski put a big asterisk next to “believe all women”:
said Brzezinski “I’m just wondering if all women need to be believed and I’m concerned that we are being the judge, the jury and the cops here and so did Senate Democrats getting ahead of their skis.”
MSNBC anchor and NBC News correspondent Stephanie Ruhle thanked Mika (and Joe) for their “bravery”:
Thank you @morningmika & @JoeNBC for bravely raising questions around lumping all acusers, accusations & offenses in one basket.

It looks like there’s been a drastic change to the “believe all women” chapter in the #MeToo manual.

Funny how suddenly things are going too far. Almost like the raging fire burned some of the "wrong" people. https://t.co/fsbSLaYCdf

What say you, @GretchenCarlson ? Pick and choose the women to believe, dismiss others as liars? https://t.co/cFVVnbT39W

MSNBC anchor says it's “brave” to NOT believe the women, if they are accusing a politician you like.
This morning @morningmika victim-shamed @LeeannTweeden by dismissing her as "a Playboy model who goes on 'Hannity,' who voted for Trump”: https://t.co/uyntIRc65c https://t.co/0CelL1qeOd

Perhaps “believe ALL women” will make a return the next time the accused is a Republican.
