Previously, Bruce Springsteen announced he wouldn’t be performing in North Carolina due to the state’s HB2, or “bathroom” law. Bryan Adams, who performed in Egypt just last month (which is not exactly a bastion of gay rights), has made a similar announcement regarding Mississippi:

Adams won applause from Springsteen’s guitarist, Richard Marx and others:
Right on Bryan Adams! Canceling the gig in Mississippi. The other front in the war against discrimination.

I haven't listened to Springsteen in years, but he and Bryan Adams will be all over my playlist today. #LoveWins

Will an absence of Adams and Springsteen concerts prompt states to reconsider their laws? Confidence is low:
"Because of Mississippi's new laws, I cannot in good conscience play the food court at the mall. Apologies to my fans" – @bryanadams

Bryan Adams has never done anything that Bruce Springsteen didn't do first.

Before considering a gender-related bathroom law, I hope the legislature will consult with Bryan Adams and Springsteen #SaidNoOne

Tweeters noticed that some acts boycott certain U.S. states but don’t take issue with the laws of other countries in which they perform:
I applaud your convictions, @bryanadams.
Hey, how was that show in Egypt last month? https://t.co/nGxdTOYd3x

Is funny how people like Bryan Adams & Bruce Springsteen boycott US areas over LGBT rights yet have found it ok to play in places like Dubai

Just a few years ago, Bryan Adams performed in Dubai.
Adams last month posted Instagram photos from his tour, which included a stop in Egypt.

So Egypt's laws to murder LGBTs is ok, but a law saying which bathroom to use is too far? Moron. https://t.co/lbcjdBJ0yo
