The Miami Herald editorial board published an endorsement of Charlie Crist titled “Here’s the most compelling case against re-electing Gov. Ron DeSantis.”
The endorsement is actually a compelling case to cancel your subscription to the Miami Herald if you have one:
From @MiamiHerald endorsement of Crist: Individual rights don't matter. Your rights mean nothing if government declares lockdowns or fuel rationing for "the greater good."
Many Floridians, especially from countries like Cuba & Venezuela, know how this ends. We won't fall for it. pic.twitter.com/PbdQMVtFJm

DeSantis rapid response director Christina Pushaw spots some chilling takes from the editorial board not to mention a heaping helping of projection:
This start of Miami Herald's @CharlieCrist endorsement is absolutely chilling. I don't think the writers understand why.
Every dictator in history has used "the greater good" as attempted justification for crimes against humanity.@RonDeSantisFL stands for individual rights. https://t.co/bF09MGC0A2

The absurdity of Florida liberal media claiming that "dissent is muzzled" when ALL THEY DO is sit on the computer writing screeds against Governor DeSantis ALL DAY EVERYDAY. Including this very article.

Wait… say that again?
Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Florida is a place of meanness. It’s a place where dissent is muzzled, where personal rights triumph over the greater good, where winning is more important than unity — especially if that victory moves him closer to a White House run.
[…]
Except for some high spots, DeSantis has deeply damaged our state in four years. Instead of bringing us together so that, united, we can confront and solve our biggest challenges, he has pushed us apart. Instead of working for the betterment of everyone, he has worked only for the betterment of himself and his drive for higher office. Instead of encouraging us to reach for our better selves, he has sown suspicion and scorn. He has marginalized, penalized and ostracized entire groups of people — his constituents — though he spurns them relentlessly.Four more years of this, and what will be left of civil society in Florida? We’ll become unrecognizable.
Darn those pesky “personal rights” getting in the way of the “greater good” (which is of course defined by Democrats). And under DeSantis Florida is a place where “dissent is muzzled.” Maybe the Herald’s editorial board could remind everybody what happened to Floridians who disagreed with Fauci and the CDC’s decrees in the last couple years.
Personal rights = the greater good. God I wish the left understood that

The Left won’t even pretend understand that because their goal is to control people.
It should be noted that the Herald also endorsed Andrew Gillum, and, well, you know how that turned out.
