Earlier this week Politico reported that the Department of Homeland Security is setting up a “Disinformation Governance Board,” and this couldn’t possibly sound more Orwellian:
DHS is standing up a new Disinformation Governance Board to coordinate countering misinformation related to homeland security, focused specifically on irregular migration and Russia. Nina Jankowicz will head the board as executive director. She previously was a disinformation fellow at the Wilson Center, advised the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry as part of the Fulbright Public Policy Fellowship and oversaw Russia and Belarus programs at the National Democratic Institute.
Tulsi Gabbard says “Disinformation Governance Board” can be translated to “Ministry of Truth” with the ironic goal of suppressing any truths that could be damaging to the regime:
Every dictatorship has a propaganda arm—a “Ministry of Truth.” The Biden Administration has now formally joined the ranks of such dictatorships with their creation of the so-called “Disinformation Governance Board.” pic.twitter.com/iMnrqksaJJ

CNN’s John Harwood is one of the many “journalists” whose reports and analyses often sound like they came straight from the Biden press office, so the White House will definitely like his reaction to Gabbard’s tweet:
kooky https://t.co/yLvFUiTgJG

It’s worth noting that the Hunter Biden laptop story was once considered “kooky” as well.

Has Harwood gotten the coveted Ron Klain retweet yet?
Being concerned that the government is setting up a board to characterize the speech of free people is not kooky.
Your tweet is disinformation.

Yeah it is pretty kooky Biden would create such an obvious tool of state censorship. https://t.co/STjkPrUXbs

The kneejerk reaction of some reporters to defend the Biden administration is peak “journalism.”
