Republican Sen. Josh Hawley has been highlighting the record of Biden Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson and her history of going easy on sex offenders. As you might have guessed, Democrats and others in the media aren’t happy about it. Among those who are concerned Republicans will go low in Jackson’s confirmation hearing is Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus:

If examining a nominees actual record is considered “going low,” what in the world did many Senate Democrats do to Brett Kavanaugh?

Perhaps a Republican senator could find some cryptic messages in her high school yearbook.

Yes, how crazy is it for those opposed to a nominee to “go low.” Never been done.

Probably not as low as Democrats promoting Avenatti’s absurd gang rape allegations or Democrats getting into the entomology of “boof” and “devil’s triangle,” but, you know, we’ll just have to wait and see. https://t.co/N56Ch8BY02

It’s literally not possible to go lower than the Democrats did back then, but they’ll go out of their way to pretend it never happened.
