In a slow day of news like the one we have today, you’re almost begging for something odd and random to grab your attention.
Does officially retiring from the NFL after not playing for seven years count as that something?
Former Steelers quarterback Kordell Stewart officially announced his retirement from the NFL, after not playing a single down since the 2005 season.

Former #Colorado and #Steelers AB Kordell Stewart officially retires, saying he needed closure 7 years after playing his final NFL down.

One has to wonder what kind of “closure” he was looking for.
Stewart has been known as of late for his work as an analyst for ESPN, making sporadic appearances on First Take and NFL Live. Michigan Wolverine fans also know him for being the one who threw the 64-yard Hail Mary to give Colorado a shocking win in Ann Arbor in 1994.

lol at people telling me Kordell Stewart wasn't that bad. More picks than touchdowns. Cost them two AFC championships. Sucked as a qb

Here's my take on Kordell Stewart. Great athlete. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer. A little too stubborn.

Kordell Stewart makes me want to go back to the Subway I stopped showing up to work for when I was 16, so that I can "officially retire."
