As I wrote about on Wednesday, Boston was competing with Mayor Muriel Bowser's proclamation that Washington, D.C., was the gayest city in the world. Mayor Michelle Wu's Office of LGBTQIA2s+ Advancement held a raising of the Pride flag over City Hall, complete with a choir singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and other LGBTQ hymns, as well as sponsored an LGBTQ job fair.
Libs of TikTok reported, however, that Wu's Office of LGBTQIA2s+ Advancement, which received nearly $1 million in taxpayer funding this year, had canceled its Trans Period Pride event at the library to discuss menstrual equity and the experiences of transgender menstruators.
I have an update, though. The Trans Period Pride event is back on; "Let us be clear: we are not backing down, we are doubling down," say the organizers. "We are unapologetic in our commitments in supporting all menstruators regardless of their gender identity and building a world where all people can access dignity, healthcare, and community. Trans Period Pride is not just about creating a trans-exclusive space to talk about menstruation. It is about breaking down the barriers that stigma, sexism, and transphobia build between us all."

… the hill Democrats are choosing to die on 🤡
The first time I remember hearing women referred to as "menstruators" was back in 2020, when Toronto Mayor John Tory declared Menstrual Hygiene Day to "help break the silence around menstruation" and "end the stigma surrounding periods." I suppose he was trying to be inclusive of men who menstruate. I reported that the Brighton & Hove City Council in the U.K. had approved guidance for school teachers to promote that “all genders” can have periods and “menstruation must be inclusive of all genders”.
And then, of course, there was "Tampon Tim" Walz, the Democrat's pick for vice president in 2024. The guy who mandated that boys' restrooms in schools be equipped with tampon dispensers was going to win over the Midwestern male vote.
I can't find it now in the archives, but I know that some congresswomen (I believe led by AOC) argued that women should be given paid time off when they had their periods. I know employers will be extra motivated to hire more women if that passes.
Secret location? Is it invitation only complete with password and special handshake?

How do you hold a secret public event? 🤔

This is beyond ridiculous.

How they can identify someone as a “menstruator,” and commit to pride and dignity at the same time is clear evidence of delusion.

On the plus side, your state may be celebrating Nuclear Family Month.
