TRUTH-BOMB: What Bill Maher Just Said About James Talarico to Dana Bash's FACE Is PERFECTION (Watch)

On Friday’s episode of Real Time, CNN’s Dana Bash was busy framing the Texas Senate race as a contest between scandal-plagued Republican Ken Paxton and up-and-coming Democrat James Talarico, who just happens to be the rare progressive happy to lean hard into his Christian identity.

When Bash noted how Talarico wears that faith on his sleeve as a campaign asset, host Bill Maher couldn’t resist pointing out the unspoken rule in today’s Democrat Party about which religions are allowed to be publicly celebrated — and which ones still make the base squirm.

... said it.

Bill Maher: “I said it because it’s true.”

Bingo.

From the New York Post:

Comedian Bill Maher took aim at what he portrayed as the Democratic Party’s double standard on religion Friday, quipping that a candidate’s public faith is welcome “as long as that faith isn’t Jewish.”

The segment aired after CNN anchor Dana Bash discussed Texas Democrat James Talarico’s outspoken Christianity during a segment on “Real Time,” saying he “wears his faith on his sleeve” in a way Talarico believes could help him.

“Well, in the Democratic Party, as long as that faith isn’t Jewish, you’re good,” Maher retorted.

Maher is right.

Which obviously made Dana Bash all too uncomfortable ... and wrong.
