'60 Minutes' Runs Sympathetic Puff Piece About Illegal Alien Family

Twitchy

Of course, you know by now that CBS' "60 Minutes" edited Kamala Harris' answers for broadcast, and they refuse to release a transcript of the full interview.

Our own Doug Powers did a post on "60 Minutes" earlier Wednesday. Former acting ICE Director Tom Homan claims that "60 Minutes" did its thing with his interview as well. Homan says discussions of suspected terrorists who have been arrested crossing the border were left on the cutting room floor, and they also left out the amount of fentanyl coming across and the 600 percent increase in sex trafficking.

Homan told Evening Edit that "60 Minutes" "wanted to show that this massive deportation operation was going to be inhumane. It was going to separate families. It's going to be, you know, akin to the Nazis."

This brings me to this other segment that "60 Minutes" ran on an illegal immigrant family that's so afraid of being deported that they did a network interview. They focused on the family member who's been protected by DACA — apparently for a long time. She was brought here as a child and is now a teacher.

OK, bye.

How long have they been here illegally?

I get it … Donald Trump is talking about mass deportations, so "60 Minutes" tracks down "like a normal family" and does a puff piece. Meanwhile, they edit out all of Homan's conversation about border security and terror watch lists because their pre-written segment was meant to make deportation look inhumane.

Under whose Social Security number are they filing these taxes?

That's who Trump wants to deport. But Aurora, Colorado won't even admit it's a problem.

But you'll notice that the mainstream media always refers to Trump and Republicans as "anti-immigrant."

I'm way past falling for emotional manipulation by the mainstream press. I'm waiting for the piece on normal families who've had a family member killed by an illegal who came to America to escape their criminal record in their own country.

"60 Minutes" is propaganda just like all of CBS News.
