AOC wants everyone to pretend that Jordan Neely was their son

Remember back in 2012 when President Barack Obama said, “You know, if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon [Martin].” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is taking a page from the same book and saying everyone should pretend that beloved Michael Jackson impersonator Jordan Neely was their son. This editor has a son and considers it his duty to make sure his son has a place to live and gets the support he needs. We know Neely had a family because they issued a statement from their attorney calling Daniel Perry’s statement “character assassination.”

AOC is promoting an interview she did with The Cut after New York City Mayor Eric Adams scolded her for jumping to the accusation of murder before the investigation was complete. Again, she blames the city she represents in Congress for failing Neely and not meeting his needs.

Surprisingly, AOC doesn’t back up Elizabeth Spier’s claim that the subway is perfectly safe if you don’t mind being groped. The Cut asked AOC about the subway, which to us is a train that gets paying customers across the city and nothing else.

The subway is the ultimate public space. I’ve spent countless hours on the subway. I still take it to this day. It’s a mirror to our society. When our policies drive up homelessness, you will see more homeless people on the subway. When our policies create an unsafe environment, we’re bound to feel less safe on the subway. I myself have felt unsafe on the subway. I have left train cars. I have had men follow me around. But never, ever, ever have I felt a desire to harm that person. Nor have I seen anyone else try to. If something seems especially escalatory, then yeah, you might feel on edge. I think most people avoid eye contact, look down between their shoes, and wait for the moment to pass. Most of the time, it does. If you feel uncomfortable, move. That usually solves the problem.

“That usually solves the problem,” except when it doesn’t.

Which is what she advised above. Just avoid eye contact and look at your shoes. That’s what she would have done for Neely.

Remember the GoFundMe campaign to fix her aunt’s roof? That was some excellent trolling.
