ABC News has a story out expressing concern that young people, women, and members of the LGBTQ community might be hesitant to run for office if attacks like those against Katie Hill are normalized. Twitchy covered this story a couple of days ago, but ABC News has reposted it with a different angle and encouraged people to once again tear apart that flimsy premise.
"Many young people considering running for office are going to be hesitant to take this leap if these types of attacks are normalized." https://t.co/YSaKHE8utx

We’ve already seen think pieces about millennials running for office, seeing as their generation is famous for documenting everything with selfies, often showing an utter lack of judgment. But, say, a bisexual woman running for office shouldn’t have a problem if she follows the rules after she’s elected.
Enforcing House rules = attacks on young people.

Wow, we’re going to be left with candidates who brush their subordinates’ hair with their clothes on. I hope we’re ok.
— Amelia (@AmeliaHammy) November 2, 2019
Anyone put off running for office because it means they won’t be able to sleep with their staff probably shouldn’t be running for office. (Unless their surname is Kennedy or Clinton.)
— Benjamin Mercer (@BMercer91) November 2, 2019
Pretty sure I’d be fired for doing the same thing.

"Many young people will reconsider becoming congressional staffers if this type of sexual exploitation becomes normalized."
— Dominic Colonna (@DominicColonna1) November 2, 2019
Gosh, we might miss out on a whole generation of young leaders who have their heart set on nailing their subordinates. #KatieHill pic.twitter.com/klP8v0jh6k

Right? Who wants to go to DC if they can't sleep with their staffers?
— Kelly (@Kisouttahere) November 2, 2019
So, you're saying that young adults won't run for office unless they are able to sleep with their subordinates without fear of the consequences?
EGADS!
How will our culture ever come back from this!?!— Michele Blood (@BloodBrief) November 2, 2019
If simple work ethics around sexual relations are "difficult" for young people, then those young people don't need to run for office.
— HansomeAtaru (@Ataru05334491) November 2, 2019
I was going to run for office until I learned I can’t bang people I have power over. Darn. Guess I’ll go into teaching.

“I was forced to resign over something that would have certainly gotten me fired anywhere else.”
— Mr. Very Online (@mrveryonline) November 2, 2019
That's . . . a good thing.

Nobody cares about her orientation. That’s the biggest yawner in politics. Which is why her victimhood ritual is even sillier than usual.
— JackMoz (@JMozComms) November 2, 2019
She had sex with her staffers. You're trying to normalize that.
— ?It's?Almost ⛄️Christmas? (@jtLOL) November 2, 2019
I guess we know what is going on at ABC between powerful staff and their subordinates.
— John Gibbons 吉本斯 (@jgibbons1974) November 2, 2019
Talk about a double standard. I’ve never seen such glowing coverage of someone who is guilty of such unethical behavior. Imagine the #MSM coverage if she was a #Conservative.
— C. Swickster ?? (@cdswick) November 2, 2019
My God. This woman is a predator. There is no excuse. Stop twisting it.
— Mx Politically Proper Isla Mae, Ma'am (@MarcelaAurelias) November 2, 2019
Attacks? She acted inappropriately. #FakeNews
— Mostly Right (@RightMostly) November 2, 2019
Only if they violate ethics standards.
Full stop…she was sexually involved with her staff.
— Diane Rivero (@rivero_diane) November 2, 2019
Sexual abuse is bad, agreed.
— mzpinca (@mikhail1973) November 3, 2019
Because they all have tons of nudes floating around out there or because they all want to get into power specifically so they can bang the help?
— Justin Redalen (@Justinredalen) November 2, 2019
As long as they don't abuse their position of power by having affairs with subordinates that work for them they'll be fine
Interesting that you would want to normalize this activity
One has to wonder WHY???— daheater (@daheater3) November 2, 2019
So they should change the rule so members of Congress can bonk their staffers?
— Jacob (@jmaduck99) November 2, 2019
Oh come on discretion please
— Sal Scurato (@SalScurato) November 2, 2019
Being LGBTQ or anything else isn't a "Get out of jail free" card. You have to actually behave like a responsible adult. Hill is a mess and anyone paying attention knows it.
— J.J. by the Bay (@flagg_colonel) November 2, 2019
It’s a real shame that neither gender is allowed to abuse their power and bang their subordinates! #nostalgia
— StopTheMadness (@scotinstowe) November 2, 2019
But I thought her staffers couldn’t consent because of the lopsided power dynamics. What the hell was #MeToo about? Her victims were female correct?
— Brad Lin (@JBradlin) November 2, 2019
It's against the House rules to have an affair with a staffer.
The other two in the throuple insist she was the abuser in the relationship.
This is not about bisexual stigma.
This is about professional standards of decorum in office.
Why is she resigning if this was ok?
— Prince of Doges (@princeofdoges) November 2, 2019
"Matt Lauer's resignation means young people considering working in TV are going to be hesitant to take this leap if they cannot sexually assault their staff"
— Gray Connolly (@GrayConnolly) November 2, 2019
Everyone replying on this thread that she was nailing one of her employees is missing the point. ABC, representatives of our mainstream media, is saying that there's nothing wrong with this. The MSM is impervious to your objections because they've discarded objective morality.
— K T Cat (@ktcat) November 2, 2019
It must be difficult for Alexandra & other coastal “journalists” to read these unenlightened tweets by deplorables in flyover country. It must feel like they are strangers in their own land. I bet they can sympathize w/ the nobility of bygone eras. They don’t get the ratio.
