CNN host reminded that it's violence to alter a trans person's name after mispronouncing it

We tried to catch all we could of CNN’s town hall on LGBTQ issues Thursday night (which coincided with President Trump’s massive rally in Minneapolis), but it was such a clown show we missed a lot. Julio Rosas caught this clip of CNN host Nia Mikayla Henderson being reminded that it’s “violence” to misgender or alter a trans person’s name after she pronounced Shea as “Shay” and not “She-uh.”

Can you believe candidate Julián Castro just smiled and let Henderson get away with perpetrating violence like that? Would an “Are you OK?” have been too compassionate?

And not a single candidate would dare risk a vote and say, “Let’s not go overboard. I wouldn’t consider that violence.”
