“Blue Lives Matter isn’t a thing” — admitting that was one of MTV’s New Year’s Resolutions for White Guys in that obnoxious video the network evidently decided to pull after everyone in the country agreed the only thing it was good for to serve as the first ad of Donald Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign.
Blue Lives Matter is very much a thing, and police officers are observing National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day Monday knowing that two of their own were killed in Orlando, Fla., earlier in the day.

Police believe Orlando Master Sgt. Debra Clayton, a wife and mother, was shot multiple times by Markeith Loyd, a man suspected of killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend in December. CBS News reports that a second officer, Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy First Class Norman Lewis, was killed on a motorcycle while pursuing Loyd in the second of two cars he hijacked in his getaway.

That white house looks great lit up in blue. More white houses ought to be doing this regularly, but that’s about as likely as this:
Will #BlackLivesMatter protest the murder of Debra Clayton, the Orlando police officer that was shot this morning by a black man? Nah….
