During CNN’s Thursday night town hall on guns, the president was confronted by a rape survivor, Kim Corban, who was attacked and raped in her own home by an intruder. A pro-gun advocate, she asked President Obama why he wanted to make it more difficult for her to purchase a firearm for self-defense.

“I have been unspeakingly victimized once already, and I don’t want that to happen again,” Kimberly Corban. #GunsInAmerica

The president’s response wasn’t to tear up, but rather to tell her that none of his proposals would make it more difficult for her to purchase a gun.
In response to rape survivor, @POTUS says “Nothing we’ve proposed would make it harder for you to buy a firearm.” Carry rules up to states.

However, the president wasn’t done, adding that having a gun in the house to protect herself and her children could lead to a tragic accident.

@DLoesch and Pres disrespects by saying having a gun may not have prevented attack and may cause accident.

@EmilyMiller @GPollowitz Well that should be up to her to decide. Not someone who for last 7 yrs has had protection 2nd to none globally.
