The New York Times reported Tuesday that Iran has increased its nuclear fuel stockpile by 20 percent over the past 18 months, according to a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency. Those numbers, reports the Washington Free Beacon, have State Department spokesperson Marie Harf “perplexed.”
Harf explained that “the notion in the story that western officials or U.S. officials involved were unaware of this issue or not understanding of what this entails is just absurd,” adding that the numbers, according to the Joint Plan of Action (JPOA), “can go up and down as long as at the end of fixed date they are back down below a number.”
Perplexing indeed.
Beyond parody. RT Harf: We’re All ‘Totally Perplexed’ by NYT Story on #Iran’s Increased Nuclear Stockpile http://t.co/AAldCzaYmd

@RadioFreeTom Harf would be perplexed by trying to add 2 + 2.

Getting the spin straight: Josh Earnest accepted the premise of the NYT story on Iran's nuclear stockpile, while Harf said story was wrong.

Harf fired back at the Free Beacon and the New York Times for their inaccuracies.

State Dept says Iran has enriched beyond limits but don't worry they are going to reduce enrichment to satisfy Marie Harf.
