'Autopsy time': Debbie Wasserman Schultz to conduct 'top-to-bottom assessment' of 2014 drubbing

Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) stood with President Obama as long as she could, but just six days before the midterm elections, she told MSNBC that “any candidate wants to be able to stand on their own.” Democrats kept their distance from the president and vice versa, but it didn’t help at the ballot box.

Associated Press reporter Ken Thomas says that Wasserman Schultz and the DNC are going to review both the 2010 and 2014 midterms to find out just where things went off the rails for the Democrats.

Thomas writes that a new committee, whose membership will be announced soon, “will look at the party’s tactics, messaging, get-out-the-vote operations and digital efforts in recent nonpresidential elections. The group plans to report back in February at the DNC’s winter meeting.”

Angry Democrats didn’t need to wait for the committee’s findings.
