Sen. Dianne Feinstein to fight 'egregious' health insurance premiums with more government control

No, the link in Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s tweet does not link to her plan to repeal Obamacare. Rather, it links to a Mercury News editorial encouraging Feinstein and the rest of Congress to give the government the power to simply veto “egregious” rate increases if the Health and Human Services secretary sees fit. Feinstein’s plan to control gun violence through government control has been such a success; what could go wrong here?

Sen. Dianne Feinstein has the solution for the 17 states lacking the authority to block or modify egregious rate increases. She is proposing to give the secretary of Health and Human Services power to examine health insurance premiums and deny unjustified or excessive rate hikes. Congress should pass Feinstein’s bill, and if it doesn’t, Californians should protect their own interests with a ballot proposition planned in 2014.

Quick, someone call Donna Brazile and let her know why her insurance premiums are so much higher now: it’s those greedy insurance companies being greedy. Or could there be another explanation?
