Algerian state news says 23 hostages killed along with 32 captors

As the world waits for the dust to settle and the facts to emerge surrounding Algeria’s attempt to rescue hostages taken at a gas plant, Algerian state news is now reporting that 23 hostages were killed in the crisis, along with 32 of their captors.

Even the White House called the hostage situation a terrorist attack, but CNN held back today, choosing to enclose the word “terrorists” in quotation marks in its tweet and the associated report.
