As you know, Brendan Fraser won Best Actor at the Oscars for his performance in “The Whale,” in which he plays a 600 lb. recluse. The film also won the award for best hair and makeup for making Fraser look like a 600 lb. man. As we reported earlier, one woman claimed that “fat suits are harmful” and decried “fatphobia” while also comparing Fraser’s performance to blackface.
Curiously, Dove, which has been trying to associate its brand with #LetsChangeBeauty, decided to jump into the fray and called for Hollywood to stop giving fat suits awards. We don’t think the film was trying to portray Fraser’s character as beautiful (he turns off his webcam while teaching his class). He didn’t like the way he looked, but if he just took a tip from Dove, he might learn to love his morbidly obese body and even declare himself beautiful.
Stop giving fat suits awards ‼️ We want better representation in Hollywood. #LetsChangeBeauty

Yeah, no.
This ain’t it, Dove.

How's that ratio?

And the “Let’s Wade In and Slip On Our Own Soap” award goes to… @Dove, encouraging unhealthy lifestyles for everyone ‼️#LetsBeReal pic.twitter.com/ufgFlINbB8

Yet another brand trying to actively drive away it’s customer base. I will never understand it.
— TallMan (@thetallman13) March 14, 2023
Stop trying to destroy the art of acting with your lame virtue signaling. Brendan Fraser was brilliant in the film. Acting is pretending to be something you aren’t. Like a soap company pretending to be a soap box for social justice.

Stop… you are taking advantage of a moment and it’s not working
— Javier Larez (@CarlosLarez) March 14, 2023
You should probably use some of that soap you sell to scrub this tweet clean. It’s not the look that you think it is
— Aaron Huff (@aaronhuff) March 14, 2023
Does Dove make money on diabetes and heart disease treatment? I thought you were a soap manufacturer.

Sit this one out you're a soap company
— duke of boredom🇺🇸 (@Overlord4uall) March 14, 2023
Thanks for being another brand I will avoid giving money to.
— BlueVoltGuy (@BlueVoltGuy) March 14, 2023
I hope this tweet was worth it. 👋🏼
— Raven (@JustRaven1012) March 14, 2023
Of course the soap company is pro-fat people. It’s more surface area to wash.
— Chez Man (@CheezNG) March 14, 2023
Just make bars of soap. You're out of your depth here.
— Smug Asuka (@smugasuka18) March 14, 2023
Are you hacked??
— Stealth Queen (@Haley_X0X0) March 14, 2023
You can change your own version of "beauty". We don't have to go with it.
— Proud Brown Brawn (@EddLetana) March 14, 2023
This seems to be going well for you
— Siglo IV (@Siglo_4) March 14, 2023
Anyone else find it odd that the parent company of Dove also owns @benandjerrys? Healthy at any size, a pint at a time. Of course you have to tell women that they’re beautiful, and if they don’t feel that way, here, have some Tonight Dough. It’s on purpose. It’s all on purpose.
— Michael Angus (@michaelangus) March 14, 2023
Why is the soap tweeting again?
— JohnLesniewski (@JohnLesniewski2) March 14, 2023
I don't know who y'all have running this account, but they sure aren't making this company look good.

Is Dove finally doing their own brand of rag on a stick? pic.twitter.com/kMeFNQ97fs

That’s the worst ratio I have ever seen! Congrats @dove on the worst take in the history of twitter! Talk about an elusive award! 🏆
— Liberals Defined (@FreddieEthereum) March 14, 2023
See, Dove won an award too!
