Brianna Wu says the new 'Harry Potter' game isn't a game, but a character test

We did a post Monday on the background behind the “canceling” of “Harry Potter” creator J.K. Rowling for being a transphobe. There’s a new “Harry Potter” game coming out soon called “Hogwarts Legacy,” and we’ve learned that if you pre-order the game, you’re making a donation to “actively harm trans people.” A lot of people seem to be facing a real dilemma: do they buy the game or boycott it?

The truth is that a lot of people are going to be buying the game. Watching with scorn is Brianna Wu, who says “Hogwarts Legacy” isn’t a game — it’s a character test.

Apparently, Wu has been appearing on British TV explaining the importance of boycotting the game.

That doesn’t sound like a rationalization to us — this is going to hurt the game developers and publisher; Rowling won’t even notice, as the game’s already been licensed.

These are the same people who think it’s OK to buy a copy of the “Harry Potter” books if Rowling’s name has been literally erased from it.
