Sanctuary cities New York and DC not prepared to handle the 'massive influx of migrants'

Washington, D.C. is a sanctuary city, but Mayor Muriel Bowser was overwhelmed by a whopping 4,000 migrants bussed to the city from Texas and Arizona. She asked the National Guard to help, but it declined. She deemed it a humanitarian crisis. New York City Mayor Eric Adams said the busloads of migrants were straining the city’s social safety nets. Neither of these mayors seems to have any awareness of what it’s like for small border towns in Texas and Arizona that have been dealing with exponentially larger numbers of migrants. Axios reports that New York and D.C. officials aren’t prepared to handle the “massive influx.”

How is it “unbelievably cruel” to transport a migrant from a red state to a welcoming, inclusive sanctuary city? Aren’t they blessed to have been given free transportation to progressive cities?

This ignores the fact that the Biden administration has been putting them on buses in Texas, driving them to the airport, and putting them on planes to be flown all over the country.
