After the election, the Left hasn't bothered to engage in one moment of introspection as to why they got where they are. The driving force behind Donald Trump's electoral landslide -- he's the first Republican to win the Electoral College and popular vote since George W. Bush in 2004 -- was the economy.
No matter how much the Democratic Party, with an assist from the media, lied and gaslit us by saying the economy was great (and we were just too stupid to see it), their message didn't land. We know what we're experiencing -- that food costs more, that wages haven't kept up with inflation -- and saying anything to the contrary was a losing strategy.
But it wasn't just the economy. We cannot overlook the Left's embrace of radically woke issues like transgenderism and the impact it had on voters. Kamala Harris supported using taxpayer funds to provide 'gender affirming' surgery to inmates -- it was a position that seemed so ridiculous some Lefties didn't believe it until they saw the video.
And it's that issue -- the trans issue -- that the Left seems to be most hysterical about in the wake of the election. Even more than abortion.
It's not the hill I expected them to die on, frankly. But they're clearly not going to learn from getting their a**es handed to them by Donald Trump, so here we are.
The Left demanded, under penalty of losing your job and being the latest victim of cancel culture, complete fealty to trans ideology.
You could not, for example, 'dead name' actor Elliot Page who, until a couple of years ago, was Ellen Page. That was a cardinal sin.
But then it got worse. We women had to put up with the erasure of the term woman in favor of derogatory terms that identified us by our body parts or bodily functions: womb owner, egg producer, birthing person, someone with a 'front hole.'
Our locker rooms and toilets were no longer spaces of privacy and peace, but targets for 'trans women' (read: men) who delighted in harassing us and parading around naked with fully intact male genitalia.
Then they came for our daughters. Not only have they facilitated thousands of unnecessary 'gender affirming' mastectomies on young girls, but they've given thousands of children puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones and pretend they do so without harm.
On top of all of that, they insist boys play sports against girls, and that the girls shut up and let those boys harm them on the playing field and take their competition spots and scholarships and records. The Biden-Harris admin rewrote Title IX to make it a violation of federal civil rights law for girls to even criticize boys who invade their sports.
And now that they've lost, not only the White House but all three branches of federal government, they're doubling down on the insanity that led them here:
'Manners are important'? Excuse me?
These are the same people who -- as I mentioned above -- call me an 'egg producer' like I'm a brooding hen and not a woman. They demand girls change in front of boys and get their faces smashed in by volleyballs lest they be deemed 'intolerant.' They call women like me a 'TERF' and gleefully daydream about punching me in the face (or worse).
They don't even spare their own. Democratic Rep. Seth Moulton said something completely sane and rational: he doesn't want his daughters competing against boys in sports. This is a view shared by at least 80% of Americans, and not at all offensive.
For his thoughtcrime, Moulton -- who is reliably a Leftist -- has lost staff, was punished by Tufts University, and faced protests outside his office.
Manners dictate that women like me, and Democrats like Seth Moulton, have the ability to speak our minds without retribution.
Clearly, that's not going to happen. So the gloves are off.
And I refuse lectured on manners by people who police my speech, reduce my womanhood to my anatomy, and go out of their way to harm, both mentally and physically, women and girls.
