Piers Morgan went to bed pretty upset last night after an online mob attacked him for daring to say that a transsexual guest had once been male. The guest, Janet Mock, attacked Piers on Twitter for his “offensive” comments:

Prior to Mock’s angry tweets, Morgan had nothing but kind words for his guest:

Minutes later, after Mock lashed out at the CNN host, it was all downhill:

Meanwhile, a legion of Mock’s supporters went after Morgan, whom they consider the worst cisgendered transphobe ever. Or something.

Well. Now we know what gun rights advocates and transgender advocates have in common — an extreme dislike for Piers Morgan.

i know this is totally uncouth of me to say, but trannys are such a mess. ive known a few in my life and they seem to be just utterly b i itchy, mean aggressive people. im sure thats just my own personal experience (well, until ive read comments about this story on other sites) (yikes!) they HAVE to understand that everything they “are” and claim to “be” is so bassackwards from what just about every other human understands, they must be patient. (also, if you want some encouragement on your next fast, go google some post op photos, what a MESS down there)

other than my dislike of hot tranny messes, theres a phrase for this that Rush uses that just gives me the giggles everytime he says it.

          • Christine Guinn

          • grais

Hey, “dear” what happened to your post proclaiming Dolly Parton a drag queen?

          • sweetdrea

What about the viewers who stumble across the program after it’s already been in progress? There is a reason hosts setup an interview or segment and recap the segment. Furthermore, if there is a commercial break, the host reestablishes the topic/guest. To encourage and maintain viewership, the production team has to be clear about the segment. It’s such a common practice, even youth production teams follow the same format. Therefore, if someone feels their message is important enough to try to reach as many people as possible, they should focus more on the interview questions and not rant against the most basic mass media format. A successful message to the crowd it’s meant for will not be impeded merely by the labeling on a chyron.

          • sweetdrea

To create a word would be considered aggressive if it wasn’t selected by the individual or group. Likewise to look past labels and see a person as a person is a micro-aggression because you’re stripping that person of their identity. By controlling the language, you can villify its usage if you don’t agree with the speaker for any reason.

cisgender is the stupidest word recently invented. It’s called “normal.”

    • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

All kidding aside, there ARE people (the term for this in zoology is “freemartin,” though it is not used in connection with humans) who are to all appearances, externally female physically (as far as genitalia) but who have Y chromosomes. It is a genetic condition called AIS. That South African track star who was powerfully built, Caster Semenya (a sadly comical name) falls into this category, as does (it has been rumored anyway) a star of 1980’s slasher films, and for that matter, Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor.

    • Christine Guinn

Except when you are diagnososed as XY-Female or XX-Male. Look it up! It exists. Science is not black and white, and gender is not binary.

      • Clayton Grant

A Y is still a Y and an X is still an X. The story wasn’t about 1% of the population with both or combinations, was it? Look it up!

        • Christine Guinn

But simply having a Y does NOT automatically make you a man. LOOK IT UP!

          • ravo

I looked it up. Having a Y chromosome makes you male unless you are one in 30,000 people who has a specific genetic disorder caused by undeveloped chromosomes, the treatment for which is to provide hormones in accordance with external sex which would not be produced due to non functioning gonads. This has nothing to do with a gender binary, or someone being born with functioning chromosomes and gonads having them surgically altered.

But could Janet Mock continue life without meds/hormone treatment?
At some point, would he no longer appear to be a female?

  • tops116 ✓Quipper

Oh, this is hard to evaluate since both sides are acting like complete idiots. I mean, with Piers, that’s always a given, so his “never been treated in such a disgraceful manner” whining is hardly surprising. But Mock and company? I would think being called “formerly a man” would rate pretty low on the insult scale. There are certainly a lot of worse things a transgendered person could be called.

I really don’t care if Mock wants to identity as a woman, but just remember this fun fact: if you are born with male parts, then you are biologically a man. If you had those parts removed, then you are “formerly a man.” And if you throw a public hissy fit because someone accurately described a situation, then you are doing a disservice to yourself and your own group.

I have the same advice for Mock and company that I always have for Piers: Stop whining and get the hell over yourself.

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

The problem with “accepting” Mock and the rest of the confused-Americans has lead to a law in California which allows school-aged boys to say they identify with being a woman, and then have free access to girl’s sports teams, locker rooms and showers.

These people, unless born with partial or both sets of sex organs, are mentally ill and should be given treatment for that instead of allowing them to continue thinking they are something that they are not, and forcing us by law to accept it as normal.

      • ee1774

And what’s the time-frame for how long those boys & girls can identify as the opposite sex?
        An hour?
        A day?
        A few minutes?
Can they simply swap back & forth as it suits them?

        • whateverdear

You’ve never heard of ‘genderfluid’ I see, where you can go back and forth as the mood dictates Believe me, they have a term that you must accept, enthusiastically, or else — for everything.

These idiotic ‘spectrums’ are just bully hammers for people they want to scream at and feel superior to. (While covering up their intense feelings of inferiority.)

      • Christine Guinn

No, they are not mentally ill. It has to do with the way their brain functions, (it works just like the brain of their percieved gender), and you CAN’T change it! Pumping them full of testosterone will just make them miserable.

        • Ronald Green

I’m going to use the neuter form “it” cause that fits this person quite well.
It was born male and at some point in it’s life, decided it was female and aggressively altered it’s appearance to suit it’s opinion of itself.

But according to Ms. Guinn, that is entirely normal. I can’t really decide which one has worse issues.

      • BKennedy

Usually when people engage in passive-aggressive behavior and structure an identity about themselves so fragile that any miscue of that identity is an excuse to degrade and assault the miscuing party, it is an indication of extremely deep and dangerous psychological problems.

The kind of problems castration and screwing with hormones are going to most likely exacerbate. I have no problem with people trying to live their lives as they see themselves. Once they construct an identity to use alternatively as a shield from basic social conduct and a battering ram to attack others, we have moved far beyond that.

  • kateorjane

Someone take pity on me because I don’t watch his show and can’t even cope with the snippets of it. Are people upset because Morgan referred to the transgendered guest as having been a boy until 18?
Do they demand that the rest of us stop using genitals to identify a person’s gender?

    • NRPax

Yes. In their eyes, Piers committed a horrible faux pas by mentioning the guest’s history even though it was accurate.

  • StateofFranklin

I hate to ever be looked at as defending PM, but…

People, in almost all cases, are born as definitively male or female. If by virtue of your experiences you grown up to be a car salesman, a secretary, or firefighter…it doesn’t change that you were born as male or female.

People need to stop trying to find a way top be offended.
    AND stop making up words!

    • justlittlolme

Which is just it. Nature determines your genetic makeup which includes a gender. People who want to think they should be something else will never change that fact.

      • StateofFranklin

How many of these confused profess they are god-fearing? They do not approve of His work of gender assignment?

…and um, if they want to make up words to describe people…where is the word for –

‘confused and pressured by a society in which being different is cool and where having narcissistic urges for fame and megalomania are revered, so I have to alter myself to be something else and then blame everyone for it and for not understanding it, but require them to support it and any other fantasy that pops into my mind.’

Nevermind, found it…here it is right here:

        • Christine Guinn

“How many of these confused profess they are god-fearing? They do not approve of His work of gender assignment?”

So, if a person is born with a birth defect, I guess they should just be happy with what God gave them? God does not micro-manage your life. If he did, then you would have no free will.

          • StateofFranklin

One’s gender is not a defect, provided all the parts are there. If someone has difficulty identifying with the gender assigned to them, then one’s mind is more likely the defective portion. It’s all about the chromosomes (they discuss it in science, you should check it out)

oh, and you are correct, God does not micro-manage MY life. However, there are some people that profess that He does theirs. I was merely asking a question.

See the root problem of all of this is it is pop-culture society based. This crap doesn’t happen in other countries like it does here. Right now, everyone thinks it’s cool, so it’s more popular. MSM and Hollywood pick it up and now everyone is doing it. Then the DA liberals get a hold of it and make it about equality/discrimination/victimization and it gets some headlines. Same thing with the “mass shootings”. It’s headline grabbing if it’s a mass shooting, doesn’t matter that only one person was shot. If the news calls it a mass shooting, then that’s what the label becomes. In Detroit, it’s called a slow day if only one person is shot. Rappers use it to gain fame.

“assault” weaponry isn’t the problem, the androgyne aren’t the problem, fast food isn’t the problem…they are all symptoms of a larger problem.

the idiots that make the rules and policies that allow for these things to take root in the American psyche and become headline grabbing and incentivized and then slide into pop-culture…that’s the problem. That is allowed by mentalities such as yours that redirects everything with victimization.

STOP TRYING TO MAKE VICTIMS. TRY TO INSTEAD BE CONSIDERATE OF YOUR FELLOW MAN (yes, man, like ‘mankind’….not man like opposite of woman or androgyne.)

“Transphobic?” What is that, a fear of transfats?

On a side note, I love it when the lefties turn on each other.

    • http://youhavetobethistalltogoonthisride.blogspot.com/ keyboard jockey

The whole adding (phobic) to the end of anything has dumbed down the culture. Calling someone homophobic or trans- phobic is dumb. People who disagree with alternate lifestyles aren’t phobic- afraid. I for one don’t believe that homosexuality or transgender-ed is something you can catch like an infectious disease so why would anyone be afraid- phobic of people who live alternate life styles?

I just don’t care as long as they are consenting adult’s. Whatever flip’s their wig or float’s their boat.

So some ‘trans’ person writes a book about BEING a ‘trans’, goes on Morgan’s show to promote it, then gets its boxers/panties in a twist because Morgan has the audacity to POINT OUT it used to consider itself another sex???
ROFLMAO! Wasn’t that the entire purpose of the book?
As far as Morgan is concerned, I’m THRILLED he’s now on the receiving end of the same progressive excuse-for-a-thought process he inflicts on everyone else!

I pity them even as I hate them for how they are taking all of us down the toilet w/ them.
Piers Morgan I don’t pity. He’s getting what he so often dishes out. Suck it Piers!

  • carmenta

what the heck is cisgendered? Piers Morgan is a first rate nincompoop, but is an interviewer not supposed to refer to the fact that their interviewee was formerly the owner of a different set of genitals, especially when that is the whole reason they are given a platform? Goodness, ‘modern society’ is a minefield of unintended offenses – and then someone played the race-card bringing it all full-circle!

    • Christine Guinn

Cisgendered is when your mental gender matches your physical gender. Transgender is when it doesn’t.

      • carmenta

So ‘cisgendered’ is like….normal? Or is it when your physical gender has been altered to match your mental illness? What’s the betting with the O’care ‘free-time plan’ we’ll see a whole lot more of these navel-gazing, self-absorbed, made-up things occurring?

Piers is unhappy with the culture that he helped create. His real mistake here, of course, is assuming that words have definite meanings, rather than being symbols or fluids or something. “I’m on your side” waaa, waaa! Hahahahahahahaha!

    • Christine Guinn

Peirs didn’t “help create” anything. Transgender people have been around for millenia.

      • JBDestiny

Words were assumed to have actual meanings for “millenia.” Like the word MAN. (Also CREATE and CULTURE.) Destroying the meaning of words is something in which Musket Morgan has happily participated. Nice try at misdirection, though.

  • ledzepp8

I can’t stand Piers Morgan and think he should stop talking about most things, but even I’m on his side here. To be fair I understand the woman’s point, she’s never identified as a man. But she and her cohorts are blowing Morgan’s tweet out of proportion. He’s obviously not discounting her gender identity issues, he’s simply stating the fact that she used to be anatomically male…in other words she had a penis and testicles. People are right to call the woman out for trying to put Morgan on blast just to make a name for herself to try and sell a few books.

And now I feel dirty for defending Piers Morgan.

  • FranklinWasRight

Piers, you are a rich white “cis” male. No amount of cheerleading for minority groups will ever change that, and so the best they will do is tolerate you, but they’ll never really accept you.

White people used to be able to fly their liberal flag or their freak flag and get a pass. Not so much anymore.

  • JR48

I personally can’t stand Piers Morgan but if all he said was that this woman, who wrote a book about her life, started it as a male, then it’s the people with their panties in a twist that have a problem. What do you think that transgendered actually means? You start out one way, then you go another.

I would also say, this is how you look when you go off the deep end against innocent people, only this time, it’s you being attacked for no reason. Karma is a bitch.

    • whateverdear

Nope, that’s not good enough for them. They’ve always been a woman, it’s just biology that supposedly played a cruel joke on them by ‘misgendering’ them from birth. If you even hint that’s a huge, ridiculous pile of delusional stupidpoop — or just state a literal fact as part of your support — you are TRANSPHOBIC POO!

      • Bathing Suit Area

Trans folks are so lucky to have you around to tell them how they should identify themselves instead of deciding on their own.

        • whateverdear

Liberals have this very odd idea that saying something makes it true.

It’s a delusion that ranges from amusing to extraordinarily dangerous (especially since the President seems to have a hardcore case of it) … but alas, you can call yourself anything you like until you are blue in the face.

If it’s not true, it will still never be so. Feelings will NEVER be facts. Sorry!

        • NRPax

By that logic, “otherkin” really are elves or whatever fantasy race they identify with and furries are just animals with skin suits.

        • Isaac Clark

No, we are lucky to have transgendered folks around because the transgendered folks have disproven the epistemological claim that there are no innate ideas. If the concept of gender is nothing more than a societal construct, then every person is born with an innate sense of their own gender.
That means regardless of societal definitions of gender, an individual is born with an independent “gender sense” of being male or female, regardless of biological or chromosomal makeup.

On the other hand, perhaps transgendered individuals have not disproven the idea that there are no innate ideas. Perhaps what they have shown, is that each person is born with the innate ability to determine their own gender identity. In that case, innate ideas and ideas from experience are mutually dependent, because in order to determine ones gender identity their must be something to measure the determination against, such as a measurable societal construct.

On a practical note, are transgendered individuals going to e offended when their doctors inquire into their biological gender? Simply for the purpose of making diagnosing medical conditions that are more prevelant in one sex rather than another?

  • rainman

We actually need a term for a person whose genitals match their sexual identity????? Cisgendered. Whoda thunk it.

  • Isaac Clark

Let me say first of all, I don’t care for Piers Morgan all that much, but I’m not sure the criticisms leveled against him on this issue was legitimate. I mean there are plenty of legitimate things to criticize the guy about, why go after him for something like this, he clearly meant no offense to this transgendered woman.

Secondly, what is transphobia and what does it have to do with Piers Morgan?

Third, I realize that there is real gender identity disorder out there, but there is one thing I don’t think the transgendered community is realizing: there are certain medical issues that men (those with XY chromosomes) need to worry about that women (those with XX chromosomes) do not. I mean are you going to get mad at your doctor when he or she finds out you have one set of chromosomes or another, and then proceeds to run tests to determine whether you have a condition that is more prevalent in men than in women, or in women rather than men?

You may want to be referred to as a different gender other than the one you were born as (which is fine by me) but you cannot escape the simple biological fact that there are some biological and medical differences between the sexes.

  • David Johnson

If you had junk hanging you were Male. If you still have junk hanging you’re still a male, don’t think fake boobs & a dress make someone female. Then they wonder why people don’t take gay rights serious!

    • Christine Guinn

Transgender, not gay. There is a difference. Transgender is about whar gender you mentally precieve yourself to be. Gay is about who you want to have sex with. (Although I have no idea if Mock considers herself gay, or not.)

  • Donald Shaffer

For once I agree with Piers. If she had such an issue with it, she could have mentioned it at the time of the show. Instead now she’s making a big fuss to get more fame.

Intent is irrelevant. You can never understand or not be an oppressor. Kiss my ring or I shall smite thee with the Dread “Phobe” stick. Bow to Zod!”

Etc. They like having their bases covered when bullying their way around society.

      • CHHR

LOLOL… sort of like “walk a mile in (hesheit’s) shoes?”

        • whateverdear

Actually, the beauty of their argument (and by beauty I mean extreme rhetorical bullsh*t) is that your inherent “privilege’ that you are born with (white, straight, male, whatever) — sort of like Original Sin — means that you will always be wrong when a ‘non-privileged’ party says you are, so you can never win.

It’s cute in a psychotic sort of way and used to be pretty effective. But as usual they are overusing it and on the wrong people too. But academics spend all their time thinking up this sort of nonsense, I’m sure they’ll try a new tact soon. Until then, we can enjoy the spectacle of them eating their own and their own becoming much more wary of the causes they pick to support.

          • CHHR

“causes they pick to support”… or exploit because it was supposed to be ok… but you’re right though, history has already proven that mob rule has a way of turning rabid.

          • Isaac Clark

“[T]he beauty of their argument (and by beauty I mean extreme rhetorical bullsh*t) is that your inherent “privilege’ that you are born with (white, straight, male, whatever) — sort of like Original Sin — means that you will always be wrong when a ‘non-privileged’ party says you are[.]”

There is a new name for this (well sort of new) and you’re not going to believe what it’s called. When you as a privileged individual say something that you didn’t think was “offensive” but was otherwise “offensive” to the non-privileged indivual(s) is known as: microaggression. Yup, you read that right, microaggression.

          • whateverdear

I saw this on NRO yesterday! The best part of microaggression? Even if the non-privileged party themselves doesn’t know you were being offensive or take offense, you are still in the wrong! IT’S HILARIOUS!

          • Isaac Clark

That’s where I read it as well. I had to read it twice just to make sure I wasn’t going crazy.

      • Kat

I’ve often found that the transgendered can be the angriest, most vicious identity groups around. Yes, even worse than feminists. If one wrong pronoun is used, there’s often hell to pay and they expect that everyone in society abide by these rules, or it’s the same as beating them to death with a steel pipe.

I have no real problem with any consenting adult having whatever kind of sex change operations they want, as long as they don’t ask the taxpayers to pay for it. But the fact of the matter is that the political arm of the movement has often overstepped their bounds and they’re going into creepier and creepier territory by insisting that children of any age be allowed to assert any kind of identity they choose, despite the danger that it might pose to “cis” gendered children of the opposite sex.

The majority of society is likely never going to have the same perspective they have on things, and frankly, I don’t think that’s BAD. But in the meantime, they aren’t doing to rest of the gay movement any favors by being so absolutist.

        • Christine Guinn

Actually, I’ve found self-rightious Christians to be the meanest, angriest, most hate-filled group around. Just look at the venom they spew anytime a story is posted on the Internet about someone who is gay or transgender.

          • whateverdear

What venom? Do you want, just shut up about it and do it on your own dime, don’t bug us about it?

Kind of the same ‘advice’ given to self-righteous Christians, ain’t it?

          • Ronald Green

Funny, I’ve never met any of these self righteous ‘Christians’ that you speak of. If you knew what you were talking about there, you’d know the your idea of “Christians” is flawed. They may ‘say’ they are, but like you, they are not.

    • Christine Guinn

You know what Jon, I’m a libertarian too, and a transgender woman. I also work with a man who used to be a woman, and I can’t understand why he wanted to be a man, (I certainly didn’t), and he probably can’t understand why I wanted to be a woman.

      • Amanda Davis

In all honesty, it seems like maybe Piers just didn’t understand etiquette? So many people are curious and it never occurs to them to Google or research on their own. Asking probing questions about surgeries or genitalia to someone who is not trans, would never occur to most of us, bc it’s rude…. But there is very much an impulse to ask those personal questions when it is a trans person. IMO, before having Laverne and Janet on his show, he should have done his research on what is and isn’t offensive (generally) in the LGBTQIA community.

    1. WTF is a “cisgender”?
    2. Was this trans woman not previously a man??

I am confused. What exactly is the offense here? Are transgender people trying to get “gender” thrown out completely or something? I really don’t get it.

EDIT: I don’t have an issue with transgender people. I really couldn’t give a crap actually. I’m staunchly in the “what consenting adults do is their own business” camp.

But I have to confess that it does annoy me when a boy/man says they “feel” like a female and always have. Really? Tell me, what EXACTLY does it “feel” like to be a female?

Do you know what it’s like to get your first period and be mortified when it happens at school, in front of witnesses, when you’re 11-years-old? Do you know what it’s like to only be able to wear white a couple weeks of the month?

Do you know what it’s like to be teased ’cause you got a training bra for the first time and suddenly it’s the constant target of strap snapping?

Flipside, I have zero idea what it “feels” like to be a boy. Erections in the middle of class. Wet dreams. Not being allowed to freely cry or be depressed. Always expected to take the lead with women and accept a high number of rejections.

Anyway, just one of those things I do not understand. I could probably understand “I don’t feel right as a man/woman” or “I have never felt comfortable as I am & think I would feel comfortable as a man/woman”.

Saying “I always felt like a man/woman” just bugs me.

Nitpicky, I know. I tend to be pretty nitpicky and precise.

  • bfplncc

I must be getting old, what the he!! is cisgender? She did have ba!!s and peni$ at one time didn’t she?

    • Amanda Davis

You are not getting old. I am 28 and only learned the definition of cisgender last year. It means you identify with the gender that matches your biology. So if you are born with a vagina and you emotionally feel like a woman, you are cisgendered. Congratulations! (I think the point is to not refer to normal people as normal…. Bc then it means that trans* people are abnormal) It’s a new world out here……..

Just watched part of the Piers Morgan show for the first time in my life.

That woman needs to get over herself. You were born a boy. Don’t freakin’ try to twist language and act like having boy “assigned” on your birth certificate and that you were “born a baby” is legitimate tap-dancing.

Until you get the medical community and laws to change so that birth certificates only state “human” on them and “gender” isn’t “assigned” until X age when the “human” makes a “choice”, then just STFU.

I draw the line at being offended over crap like this. I’m not going to change my speech patterns for this. What a crock.

Just call them all transsexual because they are transcendent. It’s trans-o-phobia to insist that you can gend-id-i-fy them.

I don’t even understand half of those tweets….

  • Perry

    Not “formerly” a man. You’re born a man, you’re a man.

  • Ron

Something is very wrong with these tweets. I wonder how many of these people saw the show. I saw some of it. Both PM and Janet seemed like friends for many years. No I am not a PM fan, just saw what I thought to be a good looking woman and wondered what they were talking about, I now feel dirty. To my point that bitch stuck a knife in PM’s back. She/he/it is full of bull sheet!

I think the fact that the word Cisgender exists pretty much shows how deep of a hole this world is in.

  • Dobermite

LOL Is there anything sweeter than a politically correct doosh getting his as-s kicked by the same slanderous dooshbaggery he routinely uses against others?

    This made my day! :-)

All that mental illness will be fixed by Darwin in a few short years.

I would see Morgan and raise him — not only WAS this person “once” a man, this person is STILL a man, albeit a man who now wears a very expensive drag costume.
