For the win, indeed. Earlier, Matt Drudge dinged the “old guard,” including Sens. Graham and McCain as “yesterday’s mashed potatoes.” Now, he scores big with that headline and photo choice. As Twitchy reported, Sen. McCain blasted Sen. Rand Paul’s filibuster as “ridiculous.”

Twitter users are gasping for breath.

Never change, Drudge. Laughter is the best medicine!

  • 24fan

Drudge has where it’s at. :)

  • Red Fred

Awesome Drudge! These two men (McCain, Graham) have proven who they really are, at last! Why after 3 submissions would Holder not answer if they had constitutional right to send drone strikes on US citizens on US soil? #standwithRand

  • Tangchung

McCain looks like he saw a kid on his front lawn, damn tea-party kid.
    Front lawn= Senate
    Kid= Rand Paul

    • V the K

Or like his laxative just kicked in.

      • $41378716

        Or didn’t

    • Jeannie Thayer

Don’t link McCain to the Tea-Party. He suspended his campaign & went to DC in solidarity with President Bush and then candidate Obama in 2008. They were all in agreement. The now proven useless waste of taxpayer money (TARP) bailout, is the reason the Tea-Party was formed!

      • Tangchung

        Preaching to the choir sister
Not linking McCain to tea- party, just the opposite was showing McCain mad at tea-party.

        • Jeannie Thayer

Sorry, I missed the Grand Torino comment.

          • Tangchung

            It’s ok, 😉

      • Tangchung

        Fixed it

    • Jack Deth

      Hi, Tang:

I was thinking more of the unemployed geezers of South Park in the Alien “Goo Back” episode.

      “They’re takin’ our jerbs!!!!”

    • Miss Clairee

McCain looks like he reeks of moth balls, gouda cheese and Old Spice…….kinda like my grandpa’s closet.

    • Vennoye

If his staff is letting him know what people are saying on his FB page about he and Lindsey that would explain the face. Those comments are brutal……..all of them deserved!!

      • Tangchung

I agree, has to be the biggest blunder of both McCain and Graham political career knocking Rand for his historic filibuster.

  • Mama Bear

    Matt Drudge 2016

  • Jack Deth

Though Drudge has the right idea.

I was looking for something snappier, like:

    • SenatorBClaghorn

George M. Cohan would be proud.

  • ceemack

Isn’t there a pasture somewhere waiting for John McCain? The country is being wrecked, and McCain is just along for the ride.

    • $41378716

There’s a glue bottle waiting, yes.

    • beebop1952

I hope that McLame and Graham both are primaried. Those are campaigns I would give $ to both.

      • bonnieblue2A

The people of AZ & SC just need to petition their governors for a recall already.

    • Stone Bryson

He’s not ‘just along for the ride’ anymore, he’s actively wielding one of the sledgehammers of destruction. Pasture is a VERY good idea, in my opinion…

    • catb55

McCain said that only young dumb college students were excited by Rand Paul … I have to tell McCain and the world this 50+ year old was not only excited but D*MN PROUD OF RAND PAUL! McCain >>> RETIRE! and take Gramnesty with you!

      • 1SkepticalChick

      • bonnieblue2A

It was the azzhattery of McCain & Graham and the rest of the RINOs that I dropped my lifelong status as a registered Republican. Rnad Paul, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Trey Gowdy, Jason Chaffetz, and all the young guns are the future if this Republic is to survive with her soveriegnty and liberty intact.

More American citizens have lost liberty and become slaves to the federal government’s debt on the watch of McCain & Graham than during any other time in history.

    • Evi L. Bloggerlady
  • Scott Carroll

Excellent!!! I was wondering what someone steeped in irrelevance thought about Rand Paul’s immortal filibuster. Now I know. Thanks McCain! I’ll get off your lawn now.

  • tomyj1

He look like CLINT EASTWOOD in “Grand Torino”.

    • Brian Roastbeef

In Gran Torino, Eastwood was 78 and badass; McCain looks about 105 and just plain miserable. There’s a difference. One points a shotgun to your face and looks you in the eye. The other hides for 13 hours, then slinks out to piss and whine after the party is over.

Even Durbin had guts enough to come on the Senate floor and debate with Rand to his face. These old coots dined with Obama instead, and never even bothered to bring up the fact that their colleague was fighting for our rights in the Senate.

  • Obamaroid_Ointment

The SC GOP can dump Lindsay on 6/10/14, if anybody wants to challenge her. Just sayin’.

  • HARP2

McCAIN should have retired years ago…….his brain did.

    Thats John McCain Boss…….
Um, yes of course it is.
And Boss, who is that with……,The Senator?
Why Tattoo, that is another senator……I think. I thought this Lynnsy Graham was a woman. Oh well, SMILES EVERYONE, Smiles!

  • $23629333

Let’s call a shovel a shovel. John McCain is angry because he and Pres. Obama’s big dinner with the RINO leadership were upstaged by Sen. Rand Paul’s filibuster. Everyone has been talking about that filibuster; no one is talking about that dinner.

Believe me, the fact that Sen. Paul – a rookie – would upstage him, a veteran and “star” of the Senate, is what upsets RINO McCain, not anything Sen. Paul said.

Yes, Virginia, RINO McCain is as petty as he is duplicitous.

    • Dick Beninya

      Keating 5 is alive

      • Catchance

Exactly! People forget that he was a part of that.

      • TheOriginalDonald

Methinks John McDole Keating V will not run in 2016 and will endorse…..MEGHAN MCBOOBS FOR SENATE!

    • DaPicayune

Yep, upstaged again,… and maybe upset because Bozo told him at dinner to shut up and “eat your peas”, again.

  • me

Come on Arizona. You got it right with Jeff Flake. Now retire this bozo at the end of his term and replace him with Jeff Flake II.

    • Catchance

Yes! Please! I’ve been trying to get rid of him for the last 20+ years, but there haven’t been any decent candidates who will run against him. The last candidate was a total non-starter after McCain showed a clip of him touting “free government money” on TV.

  • traffic_robot

Awesome. So glad McCain & Co picked a good night to further the stereotypes of irrelevant establishment old dudes.

  • $23089169

Term Limits. The time is NOW!

  • Brian Roastbeef

Could the dynamic on C-SPAN be any more of a contrast? Yesterday, an exciting filibuster and discussion of our philosophical roots and Constitutional liberties by our young rising stars. Today, the Old Fogeys of the GOP band together to yell at everybody for causing a ruckus past 6 p.m.

    • Billie Slash

McCain’s just pissed that Graham stole his last Viagra.

  • DavidKramer

I am still wondering how McCain lost to Obama…………..not.

  • marcellucci

McCain: “You once called me a warped frustrated old man…..what are you but a….wait….you’re right….never mind….”

  • 1SkepticalChick

Ahhhh, the picture of self-righteous pomposity. A photo of self-inflicted irrelevance. A portrait of a self-defeating, left leaning RINO. (Or is he a right leaning, closet Democrat?) A perfectly poor performing RINO. In any case, continually compromising in spite of the massive mandate from the people of AZ which he constantly ignores.

    • cajun_2

Dont forget the redundancy of mendacity…;-)

    Wow, that man isn’t well.

But you loved John McCain in 2008. Or was it just Palin you loved.

    • TheOriginalDonald

Believe me, if John McDole Keating V picked Moot Romney as VP this country would’ve been finished already.

    • Catchance

Just Palin. She was the only reason he got as close as he did.

  • SophieRo3

“I was going to vote against Brennan, until the filibuster. I thought Brennan was arrogant, a bit shifty. I am going to vote for Brennan now because it’s become a
    referendum on the drone program.”

    – Senator Lindsey Graham, Thursday

“I’m gonna vote for this arrogant, shifty yeller-bellied Yankee ‘cuz, like, ya know, I
really am juz pea green with envy and I juz believe that we can’t think about what might happen to our sacred drone programme tomorrow, tomorrow isn’t juz another day! As God is my witness, I’ll never let a’nutta passel of mealy-mouthed, Tea Party brats get da Senate floor again!”

He needs a big fat nap

  • GW

McCain is mad because Rand Paul just showed him what a real Maverick looks like.

  • DaPicayune

Yep, Matt, now McLame’s busy attacking our side, and a patriotic effort by Sen Paul to preserve our Constitution/BORs,… after dining with the Socialist-N-Chief.

What “Juan ToBlame” was really saying to Rand about dropping a hellfire on Hanoi Jane was,…. “You Dirty Rat,… you just wait, you young whippersnapper,… you’ll be getting yours, See? This is my show, See,… and no dirty Rat’s gonna be upstaging me on my own stage,… See? Now go sit on that back bench with your other TEA Party Dirty Rats,… See!”

(James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart & Edward G. Robinson approve this message, See?)
