The Senate hearing into the confirmation of Sen. Jeff Sessions as Donald Trump’s Attorney General ended a few minutes ago with charges of racism from one of the witnesses.
Matt Ford of The Atlantic reports:
Two protesters are being escorted out as GA Rep. Cedric Richmond, the Cong. Black Caucus chair, begins testifying.

Wow. Richmond says making the black legislators testify at end of process is "equivalent to being made to sit at the back of the bus."

Is getting Rep. Richmond’s home state wrong racist, too? Because Richmond is from Lousiana:
Correx: Richmond represents Louisiana, not Georgia. Apologies for the error.

After calling out the order in which witnesses were called to testify as racist, Rep. Richmond called Sen. Sessions a racist as well:
Richmond reminds the panel of DOJ's Reconstruction-era origins, including Amos Ackerman's efforts to smash the Klan.

Richmond: Sessions has "advanced an agenda that will do great harm to African American citizens and communities."
— Matt Ford (@fordm) January 11, 2017
And he urged the panel to vote no on Sessions’ nomination:
Rep. Cedric Richmond: "Senators have a choice: Be courageous, or be complicit." #StopSessions

Good luck with that.
