House Majority Leader Eric Cantor might be sweating it out watching the election returns in Virginia tonight. Tea Party challenger Dave Brat is enjoying a comfortable early lead in the polls.

Twitchy will continue to monitor the election results.

Update:

The AP is calling Virginia’s 7th congressional district for Brat.

  • westazgal ✓ItOut

Wow, this would be incredible if Brat won. Talk about a shake up.

    • Aitch748

We could certainly use the good news. As someone said on another website, this will be one of the biggest shakeups ever if it happens.

      • OLLPOH ~ OurLifeLiberty

        It HAPPENED!!!

        • Paul Deemer

House of Representatives Majority Leader Bites the Dust! Eric Cantor is out of Congress! Whoo Hoo! Horray!

          • DLeeC

Conspiracy! Have you heard, “Vote the Bums out?” “They’re RINO’s!” “Not Conservative enough.” It’s a Democrat plot, and full of paid trolls to comment here and all over the net pretending they are Conservatives, to vote out high-ranking and long term Republicans, and their message, which is put all over the airwaves, is believed and people follow. You must notice that these “Vote the Bums Out” never mention Democrats. A recent poll: “72% of Americans want to ‘Vote the Bums Out.'” Proof their message works. Connect the Dots.

Democrats will register as Republicans to take out every one of our leaders. I say, keep all of them. “Yes, he’s a Dictator but he’s our Dictator” and then focus only on Democrats and keeping the House and winning the Senate. If we eat our own, the Democrats will lick up the crumbs. They’re laughing at how stupid we are.

Do they have a “Dump Pelosi?” Any other Democrat? Conspiracy? Yes!

“Cantor was for Amnesty.” You’re a one issue voter? So you will vote for who? A Democrat? “The lesser of two evils.” Right, that’s what Democrats say.

          • allyall

I hope you’re wrong about this one. By the way, I have seen young voters completely disillusioned with Pelosi, Reid, and some of the other clear D wackos who will “vote the nuts out.”

          • pcappit

A conspiracy of Conservatism winning..keep crying, the hidden Democrat here is you on this site.

          • Bill Phillips

When that “one issue” will solidify DEM victories for eternity …yeah I’m a one issue voter!

          • Geeky Grandma

This could have some merit, however, TEA Party members were polled some years ago, and 6 out of 10 were registered Democrats, 2 Independent and 2 Republicans. Why they spread the lie that the TEA Party is all Republican is ridiculous. Traditional Democrats have nothing in common with progressive bullies. Yes, we have registered as Republicans, Libertarians and Independents and we will be the swing vote. The Democrat Party does not trust us, nor can they count on our votes.

          • pgroup

Variously described as the Silent Majority, Reagan Democrats, etc.

Now called tea party, fed up, etc.

          • Byron Shutt

BS it is time for the established R’s to wake up to a grass roots effort to remind them of just what a Conservative is. It is on THEM to embrace the part of their party that the people are.

          • RedStateDave

If the Dims had enough sense to pull together to defeat a sitting house leader they’d have enough sense to put a true candidate out there that has an honest chance of winning. They don’t…and they haven’t. Wishful thinking on some RINOs and Dims part…but there’s no conspiracy here.

          • cerpas

Yeah..I am when it comes to cantor…and anyone else who wants to allow illegals into the country..Tea Party isn’t done. More to follow. Don’t worry for the democrats..their turn is coming.

          • Noah David

The problem is that you do not register by party in Virginia. Everyone is simply a voter, which means primaries are open to all who show up. This is why so many politicians want to get nominated in conventions or “firehouse” primaries where only party members vote. I would like to see some concrete statistics on who voted in the 7th District. Brat has a liberal, pro-tax history so I am not sure he is genuinely in bed with the Tea Party. Cantor is not a RINO, just a conservative who allowed ambition to take over and he became too much of a symbol of Washington establishment. He has failed to be visible to constituents and thus has gotten a reputation of being out of touch. Both candidates slung some serious Virginia mud; some of the accusations toward Cantor about inside trading were beyond the pale. I will hold my breath about Brat. The one relief tonight is that the way the 7th District of Virginia is drawn a Dem cannot possibly win for Congress.

          • William Stephany

It seems like the other side is a one issue voter “Just tell me how to vote” is their issue.

Pelosi will not be dumped as her constituency KNOWS what she is and WANTS that. Cantor does not give a #$%^ about his constituency in VA. He is too busy playing games in DC.

Main Line Republicans in Virginia seem to not be focused on taking back the Senate.Their challenger has not come out for Brat yet.

        • Utopia Can Never be Achieved

Yes! I was listening to Mark Levin on the way home and heard the excellent news. Cantor had way more $$ campaign funds as opposed to Brat. Cantor was the knucklehead recently saying that the House had to move on immigration reform / Amnesty by the end of June.

Naw. I just thought I’d draw the state name out a little bit. Make it look more genuine.

On the other hand the delegates and the senators are headed to Richmond to apply further work to get it close to a signature on Thursday evening. This could mean that if McAuliffe do see the Medicare offering in the bill, he could just veto the bill. w/hen Virginia runs out of state funding at the end of june, that means it will be Terry’s fault because his lack of involvement, yet he was so quick to veto it, he’ll own the mess of the government shutdown.

Last week I needed to get a copy of a death certificate from the Department of Health and they wouldn’t even let me into the building without proving who I am. If you want to buy health insurance on the federal exchange they take the added step of running your name through a Department of Homeland Security database so I’m not sure what you’re complaining about.

I don’t know anything about VA primaries, but I heard that this was an open primary where both Ds and Rs could vote in it….. So I don’t know whether Ds voted in it to get rid of Cantor, or the turn out was so low (and it was) that Tea Party members got out to vote and establishment Rs did not. Either way, we have said over and over again that it is extremely stupid for establishment Rs to declare war on the grass roots!! Perhaps the message has been received!!

        • Heidi

over on hotair, I just read about that. They say: “don’t fall for theory that Dems “crossed over” to vote for Brat. Brat’s biggest margins were in heavy R Hanover & New Kent”

Also, there was this: “If Democrats were capable of mounting a significant effort against Cantor in the GOP primary, they’d have a serious candidate waiting for Brat in the general. They don’t. The Dem nominee is token opposition.”

(sorry for all the cutting & pasting)

          • Vennoye

Thanks for the update. I heard the D wasn’t too strong…..I didn’t know about a third party challenger though…..

          • Noah David

No Dem or 3rd party would matter in the 7th CD of Virginia. The way it is drawn there is no chance than anyone but a Republican can win it. Sadly, there is no party registration in VA, which is sorely needed. Doubt most Dems cared about this race anyway.

    • https://twitter.com/SmileyRoffle Smiley

Keeping fingers crossed as Cantor could try for a write-in, or the GOPe/Rovians may try to destroy Brat in the general like they are with McDaniel now, to keep the horse manure narrative of “Tea Party unelectaibility” going. The supposedly “pragmatic”, “adult” RINOs will gladly scorch the earth for their own benefit.

      • SophieRo3

VA has a sore loser law. He can’t run as a write-in and there is no Democrat challenger.

        • https://twitter.com/SmileyRoffle Smiley

If that’s correct, then EXCELLENT. But I still wouldn’t put it pass the GOPe to stab Brat in the back if it could get away with it.

          • SophieRo3

I’m now hearing that there is a Dem challenger (Fox), but I was certain that the guy missed the deadline. He was the one who was a consultant for Larry Flynt and eviscerated by Megyn Kelly.

            I’m still looking.

As if Democrats pay attention to something as phelbian as laws!

          • SophieRo3

I found it. The Dems did get someone on the ballot. His name is Jack Trammell…and like Brat, he’s a professor at Randolph-Macon College.

          • https://twitter.com/SmileyRoffle Smiley

Awesome, thanks for all the info. :)

FYI, I think I heard Bret Baer on Fox claiming that Cantor could in fact go for a write-in, although for what it’s worth it sounds to me like the Fox guys are having sour grapes about Cantor losing, imagine that (“Sniff sniff, Cantor never mentioned ‘amnesty'”)

          • Utopia Can Never be Achieved

Let Cantor do it. Hopefully he spent every last dime in his excessive campaign war-chest. Now that he’s a proven loser, I don’t imagine too many people voting for him as a write-in. He’s damaged goods. All of this was self-inflicted by Cantor himself. Nobody else can be blamed for this one.

Some tidbits. Eric Cantor spent nearly $1 Million dollars on his primary campaign. I’m not sure how much was taken in, or how much he still has. The map below shows the areas Dave Brat won (in Orange).

      • Utopia Can Never be Achieved

Meanwhile, it looks like Virginia’s 8th district, which is currently held by the retiring Rep. Jim Moran, will go to Don Beyer. He was a former Lt. Governor for VA several years back. His commercials indicate in his words: He’s a progressive, he will fight to keep a woman’s right to choose, he will fight any attempt to get Obamacare reversed. The 8th is already Lib central, so no real loss there. Oh, and Mark Levin will be on the Hannity show (Fox) at 10:10 PM (Eastern) tonight to tell it like it is and what Brat’s win really means for the conservative party. Stats on the 8th District primary:

        • OldPhil

          • Utopia Can Never be Achieved

I don’t care what color Obama is. He’s a felon as far as I’m concerned, and if his Attorney General had any morals, character, or honor, Obama might very well be a convicted felon. His oath of office included upholding and defending the Constitution but he seems to have tried everything he could to ignore it, twist it’s meaning or executive order it out of existance. After being subjected to Obama and his administration as long as the country has, I am sure that there are millions of people who hate Obama now who may have even voted for him. Patricia Stidham-Burns, you view seems to be that the entire country should have just thrown checks and balances out the window 6 years ago because Obama won the election. After 6 years I thought that ignorant thought had been thrown out by most intelligent people, even Obama’s strongest supporters.

          • skyway1234

Not when the Senate is dominated by Democrats. Its the reason Congress cannot get a bill passed unless the Democrats like it. For example, the Republicans sponsored a bill requiring all members of the Administration, the House and Senate to be on Obamacare, since if it is good enough for the people it should be good enough for them. This bill passed in the House and was then defeated in the Democratically controlled Senate. How did you feel about that when it happened? I mean, you must have had an opinion about that, right?

I don’t hate him for his color. I hate him because he’s not doing anything good for our country to create jobs. No oil pipeline, no oil export. I’m sure you can see the picture. However, an economy such as ours can’t survive with just government jobs and handouts for the rest of the people.

You idiots dumped obama on this country, the least qualified candidate in US history to win the presidency, by a massive campaign of lies distortions media shilling and outright fraud. He has used hateful divisive speech, sneering condescension, called the opposition terrorists and probably racist for opposing a guy who is the most directly uber partisan rabidly leftist hack crony capititalist corrupt thug possible..

He weaponized every federal agency to harass intimidate bully and threaten his opposition, committed acts of lawlessness so epic, they make Nixon look like a boyscout… has caused the senseless deaths of Americans through sheer bungling negligence, then lied about it.. has set 5 of the worst terrorists caught since 911 loose for a deserter,… insulted and outraged veterans and serving personel across the board….

but according to you…. opposing that mess is dragging America down…

Lady, only decorum keeps me from calling you what you deserve for that kind of simpering blind mindless party loyalty.. we did not, could not make Obama a failed president..

Obama, made Obama a failed president, and if he had listened to anyone besides his ardently hard left inner circle, he could have fared far better..

but he listened to no one, the arrogant prick did this himself… deal with that. You’re a cultist, worshiping his skin color, blind to the harm he does… completely uncaring….

America will survive this doltish dullard, not because of liberals…. but like always, in spite of your worst efforts,.. we’ll survive.

    • betzinva

I live here. Disagree. Hope Brat turns out to be a real libertarian. If he IS a real libertarian, the so-con heads will explode.

      • Mark81150 Never/Trump/Hillary

Oh please…. the only way we win, is the entire conservative coalition plays as a team to win…

this mindless sneering at each other wins us nothing.. or do you really want to split the vote?

Libertarians just do not have our numbers, without us, you lose… way to try and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory…

        • betzinva

Brat has claimed to embrace libertarian principles. That is my point. If he is, the conservative wing has picked wrong. Mindless sneering? I’ve heard plenty of that against Cantor, whose ‘conservative scores’ were high. So don’t accuse me of doing what I’ve already seen done to Cantor. The 11th commandment of Reagan used to mean something, not anymore.

          • Mark81150 Never/Trump/Hillary

It still does… my point as well..

I took the heads exploding line to mean you approved,.. and for the record, I have never said one word about Cantor, good or ill.. My Congressman is Pat Tiberi..

we do have to work together, or we end up handing a victory to the left again.. Now primary battles are fair game… and Cantor deserved to lose for ignoring the base, that is just how it is… blind loyalty was never a conservative ideal..

It was his time,.. being loyal, being a team player doesn’t mean we keep electing those who ignore us forever..

          • betzinva

Until his role as leader took up so much of his time, Cantor was very present in the district. He was done in by time constraints, Boehner, and a lot of mischaracterization. His bone fides as a conservative were strong, and I dearly hope Brat isn’t a fake. That’s my main concern. If the drive to “throw the bums out” took out a generally strong conservative for a cipher, I will be really, really sorry. Virginia is going bluer and this was always a strong conservative district. We’ll see. As I said, I hope Brat is the real deal.

          • betzinva

Also, this was an open primary, which I just DESPISE. Cantor was hated by the left, and I’d love to know how many dems voted in the primary as spoilers.

      • Corey Dennison

        the so-con heads will explode.

Keep telling yourself that. I don’t think you truly understand ‘so-cons’ the way you think you do.

  • phillyfanatic

Now, Pubs must unite to elect Brat. Cantor was a cancer on Pub leadership as are some others there. Time for a new Leadership altogether including the Speaker.

    • enginerd91

That’s what I was wondering. Will the Cantor supporters come out to support Brat?

      • betzinva

I better see more bona fides out of him. So far, after listening to an ad about earnings disparity out of Mr. Brat, I am doubting that he is really a libertarian.

      • thebigguy128

Hopefully better than the TP did for Romney in 2012.

        • Mark81150 Never/Trump/Hillary

That was a lesson each faction should learn, losing a battle in a primary is not grounds to stay home, we can get along, can deal with each other.. make the coalition work..

When staying home just elects a thug democrat who’s idea of compromise is you completely submit..

I’d rather deal with one of our factions where we share similar values, than watch as Obama plays emperor.

Hopefully, we all learned from that.

  • Sketti

    Good!

  • phillyfanatic

Brat now leads at 77% votes in by 7000 votes.

  • Linda

    • dtom_molonlabe

Does the establishment GOP even poll anymore or just assume?

  • I Art Laughing

They’re calling it for Brat. Prepare for the total freakout. NOW there will be some investigations in Washington. Of Donors lists, tax filings, and government permit paperwork on Tea Party businesses.

I’m not sending Republicans any more money until they can assure me I won’t end up on an 0bama watch list for my donation.

    • Perry

Yup. Cantor has lost. GREAT NEWS!

      • betzinva

Do you live in the district? I do, and I disagree, strongly.

        • journogal

          Tell us why…

          • betzinva

This was an open primary. That’s reason one. Brat participated in an economic council of Tim Kaine’s, and Kaine is a contemptible little weasel. That’s two. Cantor’s bona fides as a conservative were strong, immigration being the subject at hand here, and there was mischaracterization of Cantor, that’s three. I hope Brat is genuine, I seriously do. If not, we’re screwed.

    • LinTaylor ✓vitrified

  • Humanary Stew

It is official now as it has been called for Brat.

    • journogal

Amazing…step by step. Do you know who endorsed him?

      • betzinva

Yeah, a lot of conservative purists from out of state. Would like to see Brat turn out to be a true libertarian just to piss off all the social conservatives. It would serve them right.

        • David Raineri-Maldonado

We so-called “so-cons” simply are trying to keep the values passed on to us by previous generations, including the Greatest and the Forefathers.

          • betzinva

True libertarians and so-cons are not generally on the same page. So, this should be interesting.

          • David Raineri-Maldonado

WHERE did I say that? It’s a strawman!

          • betzinva

If so cons want to keep the values of previous generations, supporting a libertarian would, in some basic ways, be antithetical.

        • videosavant

And you illustrate, perfectly, why the Tea Party loathes the Establishment.

You expect us to swallow hard and support whoever has an (R) behind his name. While you and your ilk spend your time daydreaming about how to undermine conservatives and “stick it to” us on our key issues..

That’s fine, but please stop acting so surprised when it turns out this is a two-way street. I’m a registered Republican, but I will not vote for any establishment Republican.

Get used to it. It is a trend without an end.

  • Misanthrope

A Brat win would be so wonderful – and such a slap in Boehner’s and McConnell’s smug faces.
Even better, it puts that slimeball weasel Cantor in his place.

    • betzinva

Do you live in the district? I do. I don’t trust Brat and I smell a wolf in sheep’s clothes. I hope I am wrong, because this is a big deal if I’m right. Anyone who worked with Tim Kaine is not trustworthy in my book. If I turn out to be right, I want Coulter, Beck and Levin to personally get theire asses here and fix it.

      • journogal

But they didn’t vote for him, perhaps they endorsed him, but the people voted. If he isn’t who he says, then it’s the voters fault, not those who endorsed him.
But you haven’t told us why you don’t trust him. I am interested in reading what you’ve learned/gleamed/know.

        • betzinva

One of his ads played on money envy, not a conservative talking point. Also, anyone having anything to do with Tim Kaine raises my antennae. I hope he does turn out to be a libertarian, that will REALLY surprise some conservatives.

          • journogal

Interesting…I see if I can find that one.

      • I Art Laughing

Even if Brat is a Cantor-clone a signal has been sent.

        • betzinva

That out of state pundits and Dems control open primaries? That’s the message I got.

          • journogal

But it would seem to me that since Cantor was for amnesty, Dems would hope he won.

          • betzinva

He was not for “amnesty”, per se. Dems hated him because he was a conservative and successful. I would like to know what the ‘conservative’ plan is for the illegals.

          • I Art Laughing

Cry more establishment. He left himself vulnerable by being 2 shades too RINO.

          • mike_in_kosovo

“That out of state pundits and Dems control open primaries? That’s the message I got.”

And just how did they force people to vote for Brat, pray tell?

      • videosavant

If you’re shedding tears over the demise of Eric Cantor, I seriously doubt your sniffing abilities.

        • betzinva

I am concerned that conservatives may have been fooled. That’s my concern. I hope I am wrong, since I have to live in the district affected.

According to the Code of Virginia’s section on candidates and elections (24.2-520), candidates filing for a primary must sign a statement agreeing that if they lose, their names cannot be printed on ballots for the general election.

    http://www.wsls.com/story/20832430/virginias-sore-loser-law-could-affect-5th-district-primary-lineup

The deadline to file to run in the General was 27 March 2014.

  • Fred Doe

Wake up and smell the brimstone GOP! Real Americans are coming after the RHINOS! Are you listening Boehner?

  • Todd Zeigler

people are tired of illegals breaking the law and getting away with it. normal citizens cant. just shows you how out of touch with america washington is

    • nmpher29

Don’t kid yourself. They’re not out of touch. There’s a definite motive to their madness. It’s called money and power. Amnesty pretty much guarantees that the Dems will end up with control of both the Senate and the House. Then it will be carte blanche for the Dems and whoever is elected prez in 2016.

  • Shane Dale

    Next step: Defeat Boehner.

    • Elizabeth Fisher

Unfortunately, he is not up for re-election. However, we need to let our Representatives know that we want a new speaker. Boehner can be replaced.

      • journogal

        Gowdy as Speaker, perhaps?

      • OneThinDime

Every REP is up for election every 2 years. Vote Boehner out by voting for the Democrat.

        • Elizabeth Fisher

I know this thread is confusing… I was thinking of Harry Reid. They were talking this morning on the news about him running for re-election and I knew he wasn’t up for re-election. Then they clarified that they were talking about him running in 2016. My apologies to EVERYONE for making this thread confusing. All of the douchebags in D.C. are starting to look alike :-)

          • OneThinDime

No need to apologize. The thread is long and grown by 100 posts/minute it seems. Boehner acts like Reid frequently will give you points for that great call!

    • therain

Didn’t he already win his primary?

      • Elizabeth Fisher

Did he? For some reason I thought he was not up for re-election, but I could be wrong. But now that I think about it, you may be right and he did win his primary.

        • therain

I just looked it up and found an article titled “Boehner wins Ohio primary, despite national unpopularity among GOP base”. Too bad. I guess I’d rather have him than a dem.

  • Tom Winegar

Anyone becoming even slightly optimistic that Republican’s might take more Senate seats this Fall than predicted? I realize this is a party primary but based on where Cantor is losing it looks like a bunch of fed up people from all walks of life. Probably the same folks that like me are messaging their reps with “NO IMMIGRATION REFORM, ENFORCE THE LAW” on their lips.

    • Tom Smith

Why would we want “Republicans” to take Senate seats?
      2/3 of them are RINOs.

      • Ruth

That attitude gave us Little Barry for another 4 years.

      • Tom Winegar

Who would you prefer? I’m not a Republican but I have enough sense to use anyone I can to be rid of the Demorat trash.

    • H50 ✓RAT

Ahem. I believe the word you’re looking for is Conservatives, not Repubs. Repubs covers the whole spectrum.
Seeing Conservatives winning primaries is definitely giving me a little inkling of hope for Nov, for sure.

      • Tom Winegar

No, I meant Republicans. I’m as Conservative as anyone but I’m a realist and just like the United States allied with Russia against Nazi Germany I will use the Republicans against the Democrats. I’m tickled to death that Cantor was defeated but even a RINO is better than a Communist Democrat. I’m wearing this old one-liner from the past out but “THE ONLY GOOD COMMUNIST IS A DEAD ONE.” or “MY ENEMY’S ENEMY IS MY FRIEND.”

        • H50 ✓RAT

OK then, my apologies. IMHO, RINOs are no better than progs and often go along with them.
If I have to Ill hold my nose and vote for a RINO, but Id rather have and will fight for a conservative every time.

  • Doralynn Whited

Oh what good news this is. If only my fellow S. Carolinian’s had shown Graham the door as well.

The news of Tea Party Death was greatly exaggerated.

Let the loony left spin how this is great news for desperate Dems!

    • Humanary Stew

I actually had MSNBC on to see their reaction. Maddow was very despondent. I don’t think I have ever laughed harder.

      • Ruth

That says a lot about Cantor if left wing fascists were rooting for him.

        • Humanary Stew

Amnesty is the reason most likely.

          • Ruth

            I’m sure you’re right.

      • journogal

Salon has an article up basically blaming Drudge’s paranoia caused Cantor’s loss.
Of course, Drudge linked to it.

        • OLLPOH ~ OurLifeLiberty

Are you serious. Since when has Matt been paranoid???

          • journogal

Excuse me, it’s Drudge and the extreme right’s paranoia. Drudge has been excellent lately linking to articles about the influx of illegals. http://www.salon.com/2014/06/10/drudges_new_fixation_eric_cantor_and_the_rights_frenzied_paranoia/

He was until he wasn’t…you know the standard liberal/progressive flip-flop line. Drudge has been great linking to articles about the swarm of illegals being dumped into this country.

          • H50 ✓RAT

Oh yea, I forgot the rules there for a second!
Love Drudge. When he gets a bee in his bonnet, hes hell on wheels. The rest of the time hes just excellent.
Guess thats why they hate him. 😉

          • journogal

And he is quite successful, which is a no-no in liberal-land unless you are one of them.

    VA awakened. About time.

    • Tom Smith

Yet the major media keeps insisting Amnesty is 80% popular.
      LOL.

  • Marvin Nelson

Way to go, VA! There is hope for you yet. I’ll bet that Cantor is wetting himself right now; couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

    • Tom Smith

In January, 2015, Eric Cantor will begin his new job:
Head lobbyist for La Raza in Washington, D.C.
      Oh, wait:
      that’s his job right now.

  • therain

    I hope this holds…

  • Sgman

    This is very good news.

  • Todd Hill

What’s to stop Cantor from running as a write-in candidate to split the vote?

    • journogal

According other posters here, it’s against Va elections laws.

      • Todd Hill

        Whew!

      • Ruth

I hope that’s right. I read on another site that according to VA election laws he could run as a write-in.

    Memo to Dave Brat:
Take note of what happened to Mr. Cantor.
Warning: Do not become a RINO, and start pushing Amnesty.
Deport every one of them NOW.

  • http://www.GONINERS.com/ Kristine ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

I appreciate an underdog who has been written off and doesn’t have the finances of the big dogs. Just goes to show that ANY American can do this.

“Brat, an economics professor, simply failed to show up to D.C. meetings with powerful conservative agitators last month, citing upcoming finals. He only had $40,000 in the bank at the end of March, according to first quarter filings. Cantor had $2 million.”

    • Tom Smith

Cantor had Tens of millions of $$$ in Amnesty money.
      Congratulations, Dave Brat.

  • Tom Smith

Voting against Cantor because of Amnesty is “anti-Semitic”.
You just know that will be the spin the media puts on this.

    • OneThinDime

It’s not like Jews are infiltrating the US illegally….

      • Tom Smith

        You miss the point.
The term “anti-Semitic” has no meaning anymore.
It is used as a shield to insulate Jews from any criticism
of the liberal (in this case, RINO) agenda.
Just as charges of “racism” are used to attack Obama’s critics.

        • OneThinDime

I didn’t miss the point, I was adding to your point that the criticism would be nonsense.
And anti-Semitic does have meaning, it is lost on the unintelligent.

Please help me understand why you Tea Party supporters and voters think this is good for our country. If you are fairly new to politics please understand you are being duped by BILLIONAIRES! For the rest of you you should know that.

The Tea Party has harmed our country in so many ways. If you truly paid attention to what they are doing you would know that. But you sit around and listen to Limbaugh and watch FOX and you BELIEVE these guys.

You struggle more and more everyday because they BLOCK every Jobs Bill that comes along. They have you believing that making these undocumented immigrants would hurt our country. Every economist and the CBO has proven time and time again that it would be economically advantageous to our country.

They lie and then lie again. I am glad Cantor lost. I see a lot of you are too. But your glad for the wrong reasons. Your happy because you have one more person that can help bring PROGRESS to a screeching HALT! That includes feeding, educating, building a better infrastructure, making this one of the best countries to live in once again for you and your families.

If you can explain to me why you are part of the Tea Party in a civilized manner I would really appreciate some feed back.

I’m sorry, but you seem to have succumbed to all the propaganda. Democrats and establishment Republicans alike have smeared and demonized millions of good, honest and law-abiding citizens. What we are seeing in government now is nothing like “progress.” It is the destruction of our way of life and will result in an even bigger mess than what we’re already dealing with. it’s time to take off the political blinders and take a look-see yourself instead of believing what you hear from those who have had control of our government for far too long.

We are all LEGAL immigrants. My great-grandfather came over here from Italy and went through the process of becoming citizen. He happily assimilate into this country, realizing the opportunities that were available to him. He didn’t cross over any border illegally, demanding hand-outs and refusing to learn the language.
The climate changes…Democrats can’t stop that. No one can. Climate has always changed and always will. Why don’t you explain how taxing people further and crippling certain sectors of the economy, which will have a domino effect, is going to prevent hurricanes and tornadoes. And then explain why Europe is moving away from this belief, and China and India are basically laughing at us. Because, you need to understand, China and India, aren’t going to change their ways but will welcome us destroying our economy with cap and trade, and other stifling policies and regulations that will make it impossible for ANY business to fully function.

        • Guest

Well, I thought you might be serious but then you responded to me with rhetoric. I then took the time to read some of your other comments. tsk, tsk…. you’re not interested in an explanation at all. Just the opportunity to spout more thought-deprived rhetoric. Must be too much THC…

        • flagirl336

          Patricia,
Do you believe that someone who came here and didn’t follow the rules should get free medical care; welfare; free food stamps, free schooling, tutoring, and school meals for their kids; in-state tuition; free cell phones; and all kinds of other goodies, while you and your family and lots of poor working Americans pay for it?

        • Tom Winegar

You do understand the difference between legal immigrant and illegal don’t you. A country has to earn the right to be recognized as such and laying down borders and defending them is part of the proof. Climate change has been going on ever since I was born, the planet heats up and then cools off….so what? The big chills happen about every 50k years with lots of small wobbles in the Earth’s axis in between. The planet is in a warming cycle now and humans have very little if anything to do with it. Democrats are Communist and intend to change or ignore the Constitution and Bill of Rights to have their way. They despise everything to do with tradition and Obama even stated that the Constitution would look much different had he been there in 1776, the first President in history to take an oath to protect and obey something he despises. He is proving his intent with all of the scandals.

Now……..go to the Tea Party, Independent Party and read about we Conservatives because we are not the demons that the left would have you believe. Please educate yourself and better yet if you have a friend that claims to be Conservative have a chat. I will chat with you if you want to PM me as I am 62 and have spent over 40 of those years studying American History, WWII and paying attention to what people from all sides say.

        • Kenner

I was born here. How does adding millions of uneducated people from a failed culture affect the economy? The environment? The only jobs they can do will be subsidized by taxpayer funded welfare programs.

          Please explain…

Learn the difference between legal immigration and ILLEGAL immigration.

And no…we’re not all immigrants. You should take a civics course; preferably one not taught by an America-hating lefty.

    • John

They must live in your mind rent-free for you to bring them up in a post that has nothing to do with them at all. Sounds like you watch MSNBC and believe everything they tell you.

Speaking of billionaires, you are aware of Steyer, a liberal, who is stopping Keystone; Buffet, who also opposes Keystone; Soros, a Nazi who is best known for killing countries’ currencies and countless other billionaires tied to the Democrats. But then again, you probably give them a pass, don’t you? And that doesn’t even tough on the millionaire liberals in Congress. But, they are Democrats, so it’s okay to you.

If anyone is uncivilized, check out what caring and tolerant liberals call conservative females and minorities. However, I doubt you will even glance at it, and probably agree with their assessments. You come across as someone who enjoys walking through life with your eyes wide shut.
First of all, there really isn’t a Tea Party like the RNC and the DNC. It more of a thought than an actually party. Tell me how wanting a smaller government that is accountable for its actions, which includes spending and stay within the boundaries of the Constitution, which is the law of the land, so horrible?

Who is blocking jobs bills? Could you tell me how the government creates jobs? The government isn’t job creators, however they are responsible for creating an atmosphere conducive for businesses to create jobs. The GOP holds the House and has only done so since 2010 midterms. Now, they aren’t all Tea Party, either. Who has control of D.C., the Democrats, who held the House and Senate during Bush’s last two year of his last term, followed by a supermajority up until the election of Scott Brown to the Senate. Guess who controls the Senate -Democrats. Reid is on record saying that House-passed bills are DOA upon arrival in the Senate. So much for working together for the country, huh?

I remember posts like this flooding the internet and TP websites after 2010. None of them were really interested, and they were all so similar…..

You really aren’t. All you’ve done is regurgitated talking points. And seeing your DISQUIS history shows that you really don’t care or don’t want to have an open mind.

          • Tom Winegar

I think that you sincerely want to understand what is going on but I can tell you that adopting other peoples philosophies is a bad way to be a responsible citizen. Ask yourself what is wrong with a news program like Fox stating both sides of everything because it’s what they do. Why would Democrats and other leftists despise them so much and even want them removed from the airwaves? Why do Democrats not want voter id’s that are only designed to prevent voter fraud? You have a lot of reading and watching to do and you have a responsibility to yourself and your country to get it right because once we lose “We the People” in the preamble of the Constitution we’ll never get it back or at least not without a fight. Forget what those you admire feel about Conservatives or Republicans or even Democrats, get the facts by reading all points of view and weed out politicians by reading about their past affiliations. All of the information is out there and on line so all you have to do is use it.

I’m not Republican or TP but I use Republicans to remove and defeat Democrats because Democrats don’t have any respect for the Constitution, the flag or our wonderful traditions. They race bait at every opportunity and after the Civil Rights Bill was signed in the 1960’s then President Lyndon Johnson made a statement that…..and I quote: “We will have those N*****s voting Democrat for the next 200 years”. Does that sound like a party you want to support or do you want to support those that support the Constitution and the law?

          • ToyZebra

We want smaller, responsible government. We want to remove politicians who only work for themselves. (Goodbye Cantor.) Our nation debt is in the trillions and growing every year. We understand no nation can survive on borrowing money and printing money. We want the constitution followed. It kept this country going for over two hundred years. Must be something pretty good about it. We realize the republicans and the democrats can’t keep running Washington business as usual.

When ever theRepublicans offered a Jobs Bill they would attach something outrageous to it. For those of you that think that the Keystone XL Pipline is a good deal for our country that simply just isn’t true! It would not offer local jobs and in the end it would give about 35-50 permanent jobs and will kill out environment. That sludge is toxic that it is a potential Terrorist target! Closing Planned Parenthood would hurt millions of women to be able to get affordable health care. I know you hate abortions but it is only 2% of what they do. They have saved hundreds of thousands of lives by detecting different cancers early.

If Reid tossing the House’s Bills bothers you. How do you think the rest of the country when the GOP’s in the Senate filibuster EVERYTHING. A recent example was the VA Bill Senator Sanders offered in Feb to strengthen our VA Hospitals. hmmmmmm?

If the Senate actually passe something the House won’t bring it to the floor!

As far as the Debt Ceiling goes you have NO idea the chaos that would cause us and the rest of the world. The USA is not a dead beat country. We pay our bills!

Good grief..it’s not even worth responding to you. You are completely misguided, but be sure to call us all tea baggers again, and then ask us to be civil to you.
By the way, Reid change the filibuster rule in 2013, which might come back and bite him now.
Keystone Pipeline: God forbid we have our own oil. Let’s keep depending on oil from countries that absolutely hate us. By the way, there are all ready a number of pipelines running through this country. You could have know that for yourself, but if it isn’t given in a “talking points” format to you, I doubt you would know.
Planned Parenthood: Shouldn’t receive taxpayer funds at all.
Debt Ceiling: We have no money. The feds are printing money. Do you know we are buying back most of our debt? China has given up on us. Back to printing money: ever heard of hyperinflation? Weimar Republic? We might not go as far as Weimar Republic, but do a little research about hyperinflation. I DO know the chaos that will happen when the money is gone. Once it is gone, it’s gone.
VA bill: I think that was the one that was filled with pork. You do realize that Obama was the part of the Senate VA committee, right? Why didn’t Senator Obama do something back then, hmmmmmm?

What role does government play in “feeding,” and “feeding” whom or what? Education is best left to the states and local levels than federal bureaucrats Look at all of the money thrown at public education and it’s still bad and getting worse. • Michelle ✓classified

And they are the ones tremendously confused over what the Tea Party is all about. F ’em – looks like the Tea Party is going forward even when called ‘baggers’. Bye Cantor!

    • Michelle ✓classified

journogal and the others have given you excellent replies. Here’s my two cents:

Don’t assume everyone who supports the Tea Party is a fan of Rush. I support the Tea Party, I’m also an Independent (had once upon a time been a Democrat and then I grew up). The Tea Party stands for the Constitution, nothing more and nothing less, regardless of what the Left wing media has convinced you of otherwise. They stand for strict adherence to the Constitution. Seriously, what American would be against that and still be able to sleep at night?

The Tea Party is not anti-woman, anti-minority – they are not racist and they really have no opinion on social issues – again, regardless of what the Left wing media would have you believe.

As for Fox news, honestly you sound like a parrot bashing them. A few polls have proved that Fox news tells the truth FAR MORE often than does MSNBC. But where is the outrage over MSNBC telling lies? Oh that’s right – MSNBC tells the lies people want to hear.

Illegal immigrants (not ‘undocumented’ – don’t play that game here, they are invaders and here illegally) drain our economy and welfare systems FAR MORE than any good they bring to the table. That’s not a guess on my part, that’s a solid fact. I’ve watched it all my life. Illegal immigrants come to this country and take waaaaay more than they give. Here in SoCal they are destroying our once solid way of life. The very neighborhood in which I grew up was middle-class up until the 90’s. More and more no habla ingles folks moved in and didn’t “assimilate” (as the Left wants you to believe they do), but rather turned once very nice areas of SoCal into pure ghettos. They refuse to learn English (a fact that has more than once kept me out of a management job because I don’t speak Spanish). They let the houses they occupy eventually look like you’re driving through Mexico. Property values plummet when they take over – is that ‘good for the economy’?

They take low paying jobs (either under the table which = pay no taxes or steal a SSN which = a crime in addition to their low wages and countless deductions (child after child after child) leaves them paying practically NO TAXES.

And for those children they keep having without any sense of responsibility or financial good-sense, they are born American citizens (thanks to the astonishing abuse of our 14th Amendment). And because they are born American citizens, that child instantly qualifies for EVERY source of public welfare. This includes food stamps, Section 8 housing, medical care, free school lunches, free education, etc. If you think for one minute that the good these people bring to our economy outweighs their drain on our social services, you are fooling yourself.

Credible studies have proved that Hispanic headed households are the largest number of recipients of welfare per their population and also the largest group to remain on it – which is pretty much the entire 18 years of their kids’ lives. They make NO ATTEMPT to EVER get off welfare – it’s WHY they come here.

And the money they do earn – well, about that…since we pay to raise their kids and they live 2-3 families in one house (low rent), they send billions of dollars a year (let me repeat that, billions of dollars a year) back home to their countries of origin to support mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers. That’s billions of dollars a year LEAVING our economy. Tell me what ‘economist’ speaks about that?

Here in the Los Angles over the past 20+ years we’ve seen the closure of countless trauma centers – and such a situation places MY LIFE in danger. Illegal immigrants use ERs as a regular doctor for things as stupid as a common cold – and they walk away without EVER paying the bill. That’s because since they have no real SSNs, they don’t have a credit rating to worry about. Over the years, the cost of providing medical care to illegal immigrants who never pay their bill has forced hospitals in the area to shut down their trauma centers because they could no longer afford to keep them open. On a side note, this is also the exact reason THE REST OF US pay enormous hospital bills – so the hospitals can recoup the money of those who don’t pay their bills.

Illegal immigrants also take jobs away from Americans. No, no – before you even start, I’m not talking picking tomatoes and lettuce in the fields. I’m talking construction, painting, mechanics, daycare centers, housekeeping, etc. They also keep Americans out of jobs because they refuse to learn English. Here in Los Angeles, you can pretty much forget most white collar jobs unless you learn Spanish. “Must be bilingual” is a standard in any job posting. I personally have been passed over for jobs that I’ve been exceptionally qualified for experience, skill and education wise – simply because I don’t speak the language of another country. My grandparents came here from other countries (legally and I have the proof) and learned English so they could survive. My own grandfather, who came to this country speaking only French, taught his children that while French could be spoken in the family home to preserve our culture, they MUST speak English outside the home to show respect for the country that welcomed them in. My family paid its dues to live and thrive here. Illegal immigrants come here and force us to make things whatever way is easiest for them and that includes, not learning English.

I could go on and on about how VERY wrong you are with what you believe about the Tea Party and illegal immigration, but I’m sure between my reply to you, as well as the replies of many others here, you’ve been properly educated. Whether or not you choose to absorb the education is up to you.

      • linnilu

Excellent reply. Too bad it will most likely be ignored. You didn’t say what she wanted to hear.

And that money in the so-called “Reinvestment Act” was wasted by many states, mostly blue states that were rewarded with the funds.

By the way, educate yourself on roads, bridges and dams. The states are responsible for highways, bridges and dams (majority of them) while the federal government is responsible for interstates. Hence why we have gas tax and state taxes.

Same with schools. Schools are primarily funded by state and local governments. Federal money is available, but it is usually to match or in a grant form.

Government can’t create private sector jobs. Government creates government jobs at the expense of private sector jobs.

These undocumented immigrants ARE hurting our country. Why do you think the Chamber of Commerce is behind immigration reform? Cheap labor, that’s why—a new form of slavery, and I for one, want no part of it. All we asked for was to secure the border, then we could work a deal. The Dems would not budge. Why should we? If we lose in 2016, so be it. You know, sometimes you have to break some eggs. It’s called principles. If the other side is willing to go halfway with us we might survive. However, you know, as well as I do, that “negotiation” means agreeing with the Dems. We’ve tried that method many times before, and you know the definition of insanity.

I can forgive much if I believe that motivations, however misguided were pure.

Dont get any purer than Ronnie.

          • Michelle ✓classified

Amen, sister. I didn’t like Bush W.’s policies, but I do recognize they came from a (misguided) love for us all, with no ill or arrogant intentions. He’s good in my book now. None since Ronnie have been more pure in intent and action. I hope beyond hope we see that again before we leave this world. Although when I visit him, I’ll give a general ‘thank you’ from the gang at Twitchy, I’ll also add, “a special thank you from Mrs. Hana”. On the condition, you never EVER disappear on us again without letting us know you’re taking a break. *snort*

          • H50 ✓RAT

LOL. Wouldnt it be nice if there was another RR out there.
Listening to some of the younger generation of conservatives out there, I think there is. These folks are smart, articulate and sincere. I just hope that they can rise to the top before its too late.
On the other issue thanks and I promise.
Its moments like this (when youre busting my chops), that I am sure that we are twins separated at birth. Love ya sis! 😉

          • Claire Garcia

Reagan was a President who was comfortable in his own skin. He would have embraced new ideas from the Tea Party. After all, you’re in a bubble when you live in Washington. He would have recognized that more than most and welcomed new ideas or a path correction.

          • H50 ✓RAT

            Absolutely.

          • Michelle ✓classified

More than that, are the ideas of the Tea Party really all that new? He often said that big government was the problem. That’s the message of the Tea Party. I wasn’t old enough to ever vote for Reagan, but I am old enough to remember what my country was like when he ran the joint – still the best ever in my lifetime and I fear we’ll never see another like him (although Cruz shows serious potential).

          • H50 ✓RAT

I really do believe that he would have welcomed the TEA party as part of the public discourse and the right of every citizen to have a voice. Actually met the man as a youngster and then much later as the Gov. Just loved him. Really, really loved him. He was who he was. Period.

          • Michelle ✓classified

I was a wee kid when he was in office, both as our Governor and then as our President. My very first election (me being of age) was Bush H. W. vs. Mondale, and although I went on to become a Dem (God forgive me), I do recall voting for Bush H. W. because I so loved Reagan). I remain sad that I was living in Boston at the time Reagan passed and missed his journey to his place of rest (right in my own backyard), but remain forever happy that he rests only 20 mins. from me.

          • H50 ✓RAT

LOL. ‘I was a wee kid…’, bragger (sticks out tongue).
When he ran for Gov. they were absolutely cruel to him and Nancy. He was just a stupid actor who couldnt think without a badly written script and she was a home wrecking ho, were they nicest things that were said about them.
He had the last laugh tho, God bless him!

          • Michelle ✓classified

Bwahaha if I wanted to be a bragger I would have mentioned he took office as Gov of CA … the year I was born. Ha! Don’t worry, I’m catching up – turned 47 a few weeks ago.

          • H50 ✓RAT

            LOL, I love ya M, but you’re a poopy head. 😉
Happy belated birthday! Just wait till you go over the 50 hump, every thing starts calling apart.
Laugh now, your day will come. 😉

          • Michelle ✓classified

Oh chica, things are falling apart now! Blind as a bat without my glasses. Can no longer squat down on my knees without needing help to get back up. This hurts. That hurts. I’ve been so darn physically capable on every level my whole life, it’s a mighty sad realization to see my joints no longer cooperating. I’m trying to accept it by remembering to be so very grateful for an exceptionally healthy/capable body for the first half of my life. And yes, I AM a poopy head!

          • H50 ✓RAT

            Gosh Ive missed you!
If you think its bad now, wait until you start tripping over your boobs!
Thats one of the problems for folks like us. Super active and fit in our youth, we wear every thing out faster.
Getting old is not for sissys!

          • Michelle ✓classified

            “Gosh Ive missed you!”

REALLY? How do you think I felt moping around here and warding off stupidity for two months without you? I felt like my other half was missing. Leave me again and I’ll come to Hawaii and hunt your ass down.

I can still do more physically than most women my age, my joints are pissed off, but I still have strength from a life spent working out and being active. Vitals are still mighty healthy (BP 90/70, pulse 75), but my junk just hurts. I’m slower to move around each day, but once up and about and joints getting with the program, I’m still good to go! I so seriously fear the day I can no longer physically do all the things I do now. Well, one good thing comes from genetics – my folks are in their 70’s and have only 1/3 gray hair. Even at 47 I have only random gray, 90% my natural brunette – so I have THAT going for me!

          • H50 ✓RAT

Awwww, Ill put up a hammock for you anytime sweets.

Sounds to me like your doing pretty good all things considered. If your lucky, the decline is slow enough that you can adjust as you go. I look at some of the kupuna around here and just marvel, late 80s and early 90s and they are still vibrant and self sufficient.

I wanna be just like them when I grow up.

          • Claire Garcia

Cruz has run up against everything they’ve thrown at him in DC, and he hasn’t backed down. I pray Dave Brat will do the same. We most likely will never see another Reagan again in our lifetime—but a simple man of principle will do, for me, anyway.

          • Michelle ✓classified

I believe that man of principle (although perhaps not to the caliber of Reagan) is indeed Ted Cruz. He has a backbone, he’s in-tune with the REAL Americans and he does not back down no matter what the Left wing nutjobs, media and anti-American progressives have to say about him. I honestly believe we (and by ‘we’ I mean true Americans who respect the Constitution and the fact of elected officials doing what THEY want and not what WE want) has run its course. The winds of change, they have arrived.

      • Claire Garcia

Cantor spent $2.5M–Brat: $206K. What does that tell us???

        • H50 ✓RAT

It tells us that if you have the right message, it will resonate, regardless of big money.
Mr. Smith can still go to Washington!

        • journogal

People still have a voice in elections, and contrary to liberals’ accusations, it isn’t always funded by “millionaires” and “billionaires.”

          • Claire Garcia

Amen! We should all take heart. If Cantor has a shred of decency, he will stay in office but resign as House majority leader. Trey Gowdy, anyone?

      • Corey Dennison

Cantor was the sitting House Majority Leader. That doesn’t happen.

The only other time I can think of anything like that happening is when the good people of my home state fired Tom Daschle (D) (the then-Senate Majority leader) in ’04. Ol’ Tommy boy pi$$ed off enough of his constituents with his antics, that he was fired.

Good to know people can still be ticked off enough to do something.

  • Raj Arjan

    LATER YOU RINO BASTARD!!!

  • AirForceMomJo

I’m proud to call Virginia’s 7th district HOME. We did it!!!! Cantor has been voted out

  • Dave Turner

One down, how many to go?

  • John Gruskos

No amnesty! American jobs for America workers!
No more immigration, legal or illegal, until every unemployed America has a job!

  • agentm0m

Burn Cantor Burn! This better send a chill of fear up the spines of other RINOs that want Amnesty. America has HAD ENOUGH!

  • Fed Up Taxpayer

    ‘Merica!

  • Robert Young

The Lines Have been Drawn.. It is time for a revolution, Those that work, and those that are fat and Lazy. The strange thing is, those that are fat and lazy have hallow point ammo, millions of round of ammo, and Approve of operation “Choke-Point” It is time for you to Decide, who is the aggressor, and who is the casualty?

  • moracle

The GOP needs to wake up with the rest of us.

We have awakened to realize that our elected officials are weak-kneed and fearful and are selling us down the river for payola, government control of our lives, and self aggrandizement.

There’s a huge recognition moving across America that we have been DUPED by both parties and this administration, with only a few standing up for the Constitution and “we the people”!

We who remember when Congress had the interest of citizens and upholding of the Constitution as their guiding light want to make that happen again…
The Tea Party has got the right idea, and WE KNOW IT !!!

  • Kevin Williams

One Progressive Rino down and lots more going down soon!!!!!!!!!!!

  • journogal

While this is great, Cantor is still the House leader. Will he try to pull a couple of fast-ones prior to the mid-terms/when his term ends? (Edited to take out ‘and.’)

    • H50 ✓RAT

Of course he will. I might just have to figure out why Im locked out of my twitter account so I can be the ghost in his machine…….until he blocks me.

      • journogal

After licking his wounds, I can see him putting the House on the spot to hold some kind of vote/discussion on a form of amnesty.

        • H50 ✓RAT

          Me too.

        • Michelle ✓classified

Let him do it – ANYONE in Congress paying attention should realize that to get behind amnesty is to also get behind the demise of their career. Solidly in EVERY poll, the majority of Americans are against it. Career suicide – watch them fall.

          • journogal

He’ll see it as way to get back at everyone.

          • Michelle ✓classified

And he’ll destroy the GOP to soothe his butt hurt. He can do it, but after what happened today, any borderline GOP in Congress will have learned from this – you work for US, the citizens of the United States of America. If we can toss Cantor out, we’ll toss you out too. And any Dem who remains behind Amnesty – they LOSE the Independents…and their jobs.

  • cerpas

Someone tell the suits in DC the tea party is alive and well..

  • LegalizeShemp

If the “TEA party is dead” liberals are concerned now, wait till Nov, they won’t know what the hell hit them.

    • Claire Garcia

The strange part of this is that only the VA Tea Party helped Brat. The rest of the Tea Party organizations ignored him. This Economics professor, with a PHD, did it himself with his Republican message and only $200K as opposed to Cantor’s $2.5M. I find that extremely encouraging.

      • H50 ✓RAT

As do I. The TEA Party is like inexperienced virgins trying to navigate getting groped at the drive in (boy did I just date myself), but I like where this fellow put his message and his priorities.
That he would not abandon his students during final exams to kiss the establishments rings, scores big points with me.

        • Casca

The TEA party doesn’t know how to cheat like a Democrat….

          • H50 ✓RAT

The TEA Party is made up of individuals who agree on basic principles, but often disagree on how to achieve them.
Thats what happens when you welcome all opinions and have to hash it out.
            Thats a good thing IMHO.

          • Casca

            True

          • Claire Garcia

The important thing is to “hash it out,” not just bump heads. That gets us nowhere.

        • Claire Garcia

I agree and I REMEMBER drive ins! LOL

          • H50 ✓RAT

Bless you. I was afraid no one would get that! 😉

    • Michelle ✓classified

Dems were concerned about the Tea Party the moment they hit the scene – it’s why they (elected officials and the media) have done everything in their power to try and destroy the Tea Party – they’re scared outta their minds.

      • H50 ✓RAT

Real grass roots always scares the shat out of astro-turf.

        • Michelle ✓classified

AWESOME way to word it! Grassroots (AKA Back-to-basics) always terrifies the Establishment – their covers are being pulled.

(side note: That ‘Jamie’ idiot continues to argue with me on the other post over local’s use of armored vehicles – continues to insist they are for ‘assault’ purposes even AFTER I explained to him that even LAPD refers to them as ARVs (Armored RESCUE Vehicles), and he then whipped out “but what about Waco?”) Remind me to stop engaging the solid idiots?

          • H50 ✓RAT

Exactly. Nothing scares a phony more than the real deal.

I know what you mean, I provided valid counterpoints to his propaganda, which were largely ignored and when I grew weary of the ‘discussion’ it declared victory.
Were gonna have to help each other, Ive gotten better but as you could see….Im still engaging with idiots myself from time to time.

  • Wonder Pony

It always cracks me up when the press says an election (or a poll of any kind) is a SHOCK!!!! Um…It’s not a SHOCK to the majority of people that voted. They already knew it.
Live in a bubble much, press?

    • journogal

Yes, they do. They are shocked because the peons didn’t vote accordingly to them.

  • Casca

Maybe the next House Leader will do his elected job and start impeaching people

  • OrganicGirl

Looks like he did win (Brat that is). The people spoke loud and clear. Washington is not a Country Club and we’re sick of business and usual. It is time things change for REAL in this country. Too many in Washington are on a power trip.

    • Casca

If Hillary gets in, I predict the collapse of this country like the Soviet Union, and perhaps civil war.

      • OrganicGirl

Yeah, her latest mantra is she and her hubby left Washington broke.

        • Michelle ✓classified

And the low info voters will give her pity for that without giving one thought to the fact they were so “poor” due to legal fees because of all the BS they’ve pulled over the years.

        • Cantbelieveyouthinkthis

Well broke for them. 16 million in our book isn’t broke but in theirs I guess it is.

    • Michelle ✓classified

Wouldn’t it be awesome if we established term limits and/or a mandatory retirement age? FFS – the Federal government has a mandatory retirement age of 55, those are the folks enforcing the law. Only makes sense to also have a similar retirement age for those creating the laws.

  • https://twitter.com/UnicornOfMayhem Hi This Is My Username

Good riddance to Cantor the dirt bag!

  • Claire Garcia

Guess what PMSNBC was shilling? “They threw out the only Jewish congressman ever elected.” Is anyone surprised at THIS tactic. Sheesh.

    • H50 ✓RAT

      LOL, LOL, LOL.
Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Im just enjoying the prog butthurt.

      • Corey Dennison

Hana! Haven’t seen you around in a while–good to see ya back!

        • H50 ✓RAT

Hi Corey! Been a busy bee of late. Time slips away from ya in the tropics and I didnt realize I was gone that long.
Been fun catching up with everybody tho!

    • dtom_molonlabe

Who or what is MSNBC? lol

      • http://aimable-c.at/ Geoffrey Hooker

        MSNBC knows Virginia.

        • SonofLiberty

Didn’t they just confuse VA with NC earlier today????

          Geography is haaaard. Morons.

        • http://www.mythlogicpress.com/ zmortis

As a resident of West Virginia, why did MSNBC color my state “black” on their graphic? Maybe they are racist?

      • Claire Garcia

Ahem, I said PMSnbc. I had to check my TV channel guide, because I didn’t know where it was. I was just curious to hear their usual “spin.” LOL

  • Darth Venomous✓unmedicated

Don’t know if anyone’s mentioned this, but it seems to me that Weepy Boner’s position looks even more shaky than it did 24 hours ago: No Cantor to twist arms & whip up votes to re-elect him Speaker.

(Not that it was a slam-dunk for his this next go-round, to be sure.)

    • ToyZebra

The would be the next great hurdle to clear, getting rid of the Crying Man as speaker.

  • Kirk Billingsley

The establishment better take a close look at this. American Conservatives do not like Republican Light and we are too smart to be fooled that the notion immigration reform brings our party more constituents. Bull $hit. Wake up G.O.P. Time to dust your law degrees off, you may need them soon,

    • prado4587

Listen up establishment RINOs…Cantor doesn’t sponsor an amnesty bill and Sessions does in the Senate and runs unopposed. Tea party victory will be ours in 2014!

  • Inspector Javert

I’m a realist, and this is going to be pick up for the dems. We’re exchanging GOP votes that MIGHT help our agenda for canidates who WOULD vote for our agenda if they didn’t lost to Dems who WON’T support our agenda under any circumstances.

    • beebop1952

If we can’t elect RELIABLE votes from people who SAY they will do the people’s will, then we simply don’t deserve this nation. There will always be an America as long as free people every where support the constitution instead of using it for darts.

    • Ruffin

The only way the Dems pick up this district is if Cantor runs as a write-in. If he does he not only loses, but gives up any chance of holding elected office again.

  • AZWarrior

Read our lips: no more illegal alien dumping.

  • JR48

The rumor that the Tea Party is ‘dead’…has been greatly exaggerated.

Funny thing about people who don’t usually carry picket signs…the fact that they’re currently not, doesn’t mean that they’re done. It means that they’re waiting.

    November is almost here.

  • Dobermite

I send this one out to Eric Cantor, with a warning to other Republicrats in Congress, if you keep flirting with de-facto amnesty, next time this song will be for you:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsaTElBljOE

  • ExPat_in_Krakow

The Tea Party is Snake Plissken!

“Yeah, I heard of you. Heard you were dead.”

  • san rafael blue

    Surrender Dorothy, I mean Eric!

  • mcwsunshine

I think you do an injustice to the candidate when you label him a tea party candidate. The tea party never endorsed him, the tea party never funded his campaign, He had no big war chest but won this race on the issues that are close to the minds of his constituents in Virginia. He won on the issues facing real people, how refreshing!!

    • H50 ✓RAT

The TEA party does not fund campaigns, they select someone from the available pool of candidates to support just like anyone else. Individuals may choose to donate to campaigns, but only the parties and PACS make large donations and dedicate resources to fund/operate campaigns.

  • SusanKeener

    Informed voters (for a change)!

  • Casca

I heard that Liberals were coughing up money and food to help take care of all these poor illegal children……oh, wait- no they aren’t

  • Jon Kahr

While confused about reason’s origins, collectivists claim that society must be controlled by small groups of intellectuals and academics.
