Is Washington DC's Attorney General tweeting about the David Gregory case?

Irvin B. Nathan, the Attorney General of Washington DC, recently announced that David Gregory will not face prosecution for waving a banned high-capacity magazine during a broadcast of “Meet the Press.”

Someone who claims to be Nathan began tweeting earlier today:

Most of the tweets sound real, and so far nobody has questioned the legitimacy of the account.

We have our doubts.

To our ears, this tweet sounds like an attempt at humor (and a pretty good one at that):

The account is unverified and is brand new. Twitchy verdict: It’s probably a fake.

But, hey, we could be wrong.
