RIP: Andrew Breitbart's father, Gerald, has passed away

Very sad news.

Breitbart.com reports that Gerald Breitbart, father of the late media warrior Andrew Breitbart, passed away yesterday:

With great sadness we announce the passing of Gerald Breitbart, husband of Arlene Mae Breitbart (1925-2013), father of Andrew (1969-2012) and his sister Tracey, and grandfather of seven fantastic grandchildren.

Gerry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a people person and therefore naturally a restaurateur–first, with his father at The Esquire in Chicago, Illinois, where Gerry grew up. Later, Gerry owned and ran the iconic Fox & Hounds Restaurant in Santa Monica with his sister Harriet until 1980, when Gerry “retired.”  Later, Gerry worked as the President of the California Restaurant Association.

In dedicating his book, Righteous Indignation, Andrew described his father as a “decent” man “who inspired me to act.”

He sounds like an amazing man. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones.
