Paul Krugman's takeaway from impeachment hearings: 'The Deep State contains some really impressive, principled people'

Paul Krugman’s really enjoying today’s impeachment proceedings. And why wouldn’t he? After all, they’re providing a great showcase for the “Deep State,” which guys like him used to say didn’t exist.

According to Krugman, Fiona Hill and David Holmes, who are testifying today, are model citizens of the Deep State:

OK, Paul.

We could maybe chalk this one up to Paul Krugman attempting to be sarcastic, but the fact that his beloved New York Times recently put out a piece praising the “patriotic public servants” of the Deep State makes it a little tougher to give him the benefit of the doubt.
