Actress Ellen Page is an outspoken LGBTQ advocate. And good on her for that. But she does the LGBTQ community a major disservice when she pulls crap like this.
After suggesting last week that Mike Pence was to blame for the alleged hate crime against “Empire Star” Jussie Smollett, Page is now trying to church-shame actor Chris Pratt:

No, she really does. In response to Pratt discussing his strong Christian faith:
Fresh from fasting, @prattprattpratt talks about his spiritual side on @colbertlateshow https://t.co/iwUyo4tIhh pic.twitter.com/FQKZVwwtgN

Page seemed to think she was entitled to an explanation for his place of worship:
Oh. K. Um. But his church is infamously anti lgbtq so maybe address that too? https://t.co/meg8m69FeF

Funny, we don’t recall her asking Stephen Colbert to explain the Catholic Church’s position on homosexuality when she was on his show last week …
As well as Stephen Colbert’s church…

But so is @StephenAtHome's, so…

Anyway, apparently this is what Page finds so offensive about Pratt’s church:
The church in question is Hillsong. And in a blog post from 2015, the pastor of the church specifically answered the question about whether or not they accept gay people as part of their congregation and leadership.
“Hillsong Church welcomes ALL people but does not affirm all lifestyles,” wrote Pastor Brian Houston. “Put clearly, we do not affirm a gay lifestyle and because of this we do not knowingly have actively gay people in positions of leadership, either paid or unpaid. I recognise this one statement alone is upsetting to people on both sides of this discussion, which points to the complexity of the issue for churches all over the world.”

And for that, Pratt has to explain himself? With all due respect to Ms. Page, who does she think she is? Sorry to break this to you, Ellen, but Chris Pratt’s faith dictates that he will ultimately answer to God. Not to you.
News flash. Most religions are anti-same sex sex. Chris Pratt from all reports is nothing but one of the nicest celebrities out there.

Yet he is famously loving of everybody. Unlike some people who are always on the attack (cough cough)#Why

If we had to choose between hanging out with a notoriously nice guy like Chris Pratt and a bitter shrew like Ellen Page, we know who we’d pick.
Just because the church is against it, doesn’t mean he wants to hurt anyone in the LGBT community. He doesn’t have to talk about or explain his beliefs anyway.

Speaking of explanations, why doesn’t Ellen explain some things to us?
She should explain why she cares about a church she does not attend. She should also have Muslim Mosques explain why they are infamously anti-LGBTQ https://t.co/dS6jIiy0yZ
