Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger rolled into Manassas on Wednesday for a feel-good stop on paid leave (which is costing Virginians even more), just days after a 16-year-old girl was killed in the crossfire of a downtown shootout at a packed First Friday event.
Nick Minock was waiting with the obvious questions: Did the justice system fail that teenager? Why were people with criminal records out on the street?
Staff promised a few minutes.
Then the governor kept walking.
No, wait. She didn't walk. She ran.
