Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) addressed rumors about his sexuality in a recent interview, telling The Philadelphia Inquirer that he is straight.
“I’m heterosexual,” Booker told the newspaper. ”Every candidate should run on their authentic self, tell their truth, and more importantly, or most importantly, talk about their vision for the country.”
Past political opponents of Booker have attempted to question his sexuality, according to the Inquirer. Booker is considering a bid for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020.
Booker also told the Inquirer that he is going to discuss his possible presidential bid with his family over the holidays.
