Abdul El-Sayed Says Not Being Able to Pronounce His Name Is Not the Reason We're In an Illegal War

After Democratic Socialist Abdul El-Sayed won the Democratic primary in the race to be Michigan's next senator, the NRSC sent out a press release using his full name, Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed. "Subtle stuff from the NRSC," The Bulwark's Stein whined. This seems to have really triggered El-Sayed, who said at a rally, "If you can't say the name Abdulrahman, keep the name out of your damn mouth! I'll be happy to give you lessons!"

CNN's Manu Raju asked NRSC chairman Sen. Tim Scott, "Your ad uses his FULL name. He goes by Abdul El-Sayed. Are you saying, hint hint, he's Muslim?" For what it's worth, El-Sayed is really leaning into it. He posted a clip from his appearance on Democracy Now! and said his name is not the reason we're in an illegal war and you can't afford your healthcare.

As Scott told Raju, "We're saying he says he's the most dangerous candidate you can find." He's a fully committed Democratic Socialist.

He seems to think he can make you believe you're Islamophobic if you vote against his Democratic Socialist policies. Your name is not the reason Michiganders don't trust you to represent them in the Senate and protect the Constitution.
