Mayor Scamdani: 'Defund the Police … Until My Wife Needs Free Bodyguards for Her Syria Selfie Trip'

Well, that's a shame.

New York City Hall announced that police officers would accompany first lady Rama Duwaji on a private family trip to Syria and Lebanon.

Hours later, the NYPD said the opposite.

The extraordinary contradiction has left New Yorkers with a basic question neither side has adequately answered: Are taxpayer-funded police officers being sent into countries covered by the federal government’s highest travel warning—or not?

Duwaji, the 29-year-old Syrian-American artist married to Mayor Zohran Mamdani, plans to begin the Middle East trip on September 20. Her parents are Syrian Muslims originally from Damascus, and the mayor’s office described the journey as a family visit.

Also, she does a whole bunch of traveling. She was recently in another country for a spiritual retreat where they tried to convince attendees Mary, the Mother of Jesus, is Palestinian.

Anyway, City Hall said security was going with her. The New York Police said not so fast. Just because your big dummy wife wants to travel to the danger zone, don't drag us into it.

If it weren't for being hypocritical, where would Mamdani be?

Also, it seems the only time his wife rears her ugly little head is when she needs protection on a worldwide trip or she is partying with the Knicks. Weird.

He's only ever been a rapper before, so it's not surprising.

Why don't they move there and run for office? They can make it better. Shape it into their perfect little utopia and leave the rest of us alone.

Well, in their minds, they are royalty.

Protection for me, but not for thee. He's a typical Communist.

That's the perfect compromise.
