Poetry slam: Texas abortion debate inspires Twitter to contemplate #IfMyVaginaWasAGun

It’s always good to see people taking an interest in poetry, but the danger of expressing oneself in verse is that so much is left open to misinterpretation. It’s unclear whether “If My Vagina Was a Gun,” one woman’s poem read in the Texas state capitol today to protest tougher abortion restrictions, changed any hearts or votes in the state legislature, but it did inspire thousands on Twitter to ask, “Why is #IfMyVaginaWasAGun trending?”
