Brave Russian critics of Vladimir Putin took to the streets today to protest the brutal murder of Boris Nemtsov, who was gunned down in Moscow on Friday, as Twitchy reported.

Thousands turned out today with signs proclaiming “I am not afraid” and “I am Nemtsov.” The vigil took place at the site of Nemtsov’s assassination. Many also called for the release of imprisoned Ukrainian military pilot Nadia Savchenko, who has been on a hunger strike for 77 days.

Putin has taken control of the investigation into his rival’s murder. That’ll go well.
