What sparked the following epic and righteous rant? More disturbing news from our public schools.
In the Socialist State, that which is not illegal is mandatory: Kids forced to kiss same-sex partners in Middleschool http://t.co/ZdlFSNz9Lg
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
Weasel Zippers reported on the story, including this snippet from CBN News:
The workshop for 13 and 14-year-old girls focused on homosexuality and gender identity. They were also taught words such as “pansexual” and “genderqueer.”
Parents say their daughters were told to ask one another for a kiss and they say two girls were told to stand in front of the class and pretend they were lesbians on a date.
“She told me, ‘Mom we all get teased and picked on enough. Now I’m going to be called a lesbian because I had to ask another girl if I could kiss her,’” parent, Mandy Coon, told reporters.
It was an anti-bullying presentation, natch. And parents were not given the option to opt their children out. In fact, they weren’t even warned that this “workshop” was being given, according to parents. The superintendent claimed it was “focused on improving culture, relationships, communication and self-perception.” Further, the workshop was reportedly organized with the help of Bard College students. Case closed.
But, hey, they may give notice to parents in the future.
Like the foul Melissa Harris-Perry, evidently they believe “all your children belong to us.” Like Sarah Palin said, it is the new “you didn’t build that”: You didn’t birth that.
No.
Keep your hands off.
Ace of Spades was outraged and rightly so. Pedagogy this.
It's this kind of vile shit that that people who resist "mainstreaming" gay rights are afraid of — and you can't call them paranoid…

If my only options are "Support Gay Rights, but Gay Rights means kids get forced to kiss same-sex partners in school," or…

…adopt a very punitive and ugly Anti-Gay posture, between those two loathsome options, I will choose B.

For God's sake. For God's sake.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
Is there no middle ground where, get this, people are allowed to be gay, and people are allowed to NOT be gay as well?
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
Or does supporting the rights of gays to be gays mean I forfeit my kid's right to be straight?
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
If someone compels two teenage girls to kiss, he goes to jail. But in Government Schools, it gets you an Employee of the Month parking space
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
Correcting myself: They were not forced to kiss — but to ask each other if they COULD kiss each other.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
I'm going to need and end to this "Roleplaying" Pedagogy generally– I"m sick of teachers asking kids to bow to Mecca…
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
…in order to "understand" muslims, or roleplay a homosexual relationship to understand gays.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
There is a whole stupid pedagogy of forcing kids to "roleplay" the customs of "diverse cultures." It always ends this way.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
The idea of it is that it's supposed to make kids "understand" other viewpoints (by having a teacher FORCE them into one).
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
And it always winds up with asking girls to kiss each other or to get on the prayer rug to bow to Mecca.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
Bingo.
The entire thing is jackass and by this point we can safely conclude that these Minimum Wage Brains teaching our kids do not know The Line.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
In theory, it's possibly useful. In practice, we have people just above McChicken Strip Fabrication forcing this technique on kids.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
I've got a fucking idea–how about we drop the novel, circa 1969 outre pedagogies and return to the one that produced geniuses–reading?
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
Instead it's all about "Play." We'll have kids "Play" different roles like Cops and Robbers and that will teach them because it's Play.

Conservatives should be the ranch–bet EVERYTHING– on school choice.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
Amen.
As @flynn1776 will tell you if you ask him, we would also be following our Superior European Cousins if we adopted full choice.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
He's fond of calling it, I think, "The Danish Model," because the sophisticated danes just send all government monies collected for school..
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
…to whatever school the parent chooses. The money just follows the kid. Easy as pie.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
Why Are We So Stupid To Be So Far Behind Our European Betters Who Are So Progressive In These Matters?
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) April 25, 2013
Exactly! Aren’t we to look to the smarty pants and oh-so-cultured Europeans? What happened to that whole “citizen of the world” thing? It must include schooling.
Another Twitter user points out an eerily apt quote.
@AceofSpadesHQ "Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted."
— Malcolm Pollack (@mtpollack) April 25, 2013
That seems to be the plan, doesn’t it? Our schools have become places of indoctrination, not learning.
Ace continues.
@mtpollack I figured him or Nietsche, who did not like government schools and thought they were just factories for Government Servitors.

— (((WitCoHE))) (@E__Strobel) April 25, 2013

Boom.
Ace of Spades HQ has more:
I'm gonna commit this entire @AceofSpadesHQ post to memory like I used to have to do with Shakespeare. http://t.co/vcqKNup0QY
— Leslie ن (@LADowd) April 25, 2013
A small taste, but you really need to read the whole thing:
You cannot demand that someone afford you the right of liberty while in the same movement stealing that very thing from everyone else.
How about this for an insane idea: Just as people have the right to be gay, other people retain their right to not be gay.
Or is that to “extreme” a position?
Seriously, read the rest.
And don’t forget the words of advice about school choice.
@AceofSpadesHQ It's an issue that should resonate with a *LOT* of people. Good call.

Very important! RT @CAAmyO: Yep“@AceofSpadesHQ: Conservatives should bet the ranch–bet EVERYTHING– on school choice.”
